RM had a really, really rough time in the military. He served in dilapidated military housing, definitely didn't receive preferential treatment (none of them did) he had extreme insomnia the bulk of the time there and was very stressed about what was going on at the company with the min hee jin and new jeans drama and the media smear campaign she hired a company to do on BTS, and of course the way suga was dragged through the media for his kickboard DUI. He also went through something really bad the 6 months prior to his enlistment, he has not opened up about why but some think there was a bad relationship involved and he got pressure from netizens about not enlisting when the older members did. I think he is still working on pulling himself out of the funk, honestly.
