the reason you dont get it is cause your view of hip hop is very skewed as well as you jumping from song to song never doing full albums or mixtapes make the progress seem jarring. if you started from his starting point and continued until now then you would get it. and A LOT of what you chat about hip hop is very wrong as a american from new york who grew up listening to hip hop all my life im from the birthplace of many amazing rappers. your view on hip hop is very conservative when its always been very liberal. it has progressed to what it is because of those who came before ALLOWING that shift. because the culture ACCEPTS that now. it grew just like all other cultures do. becoming more inclusive is NOT a bad thing the ones who thought that were the ones wanting 2pac dead. he was on a fbi watch list because of his progressive songs that were more inclusive. youre a fan of hip hop but youre not viewing the culture properly. women and gay people have always been the target audience for many rappers and hip hop HAD to evolve to be inclusive to their biggest consumers. pac literally told big dont make the music for the guys make music for the bitches. thats why big poppa was released. he changed his whole style cause of pac. i get you think you know about hip hop culture but no one who isnt american will ever fully understand and no one who isnt black wont understand either. theres levels to understanding. what i do know is RM specifically has gotten co signed by some of the greats and bts in general are also co signed. meaning somewhat accepted. most LOVED rm's first mixtape and understood it on a different level than you. and most american armys are the same. many non american armys have similar thoughts to you thats why its the least popular project out of all of RM's work. but its my personal favorite. my favorite song on RM first mixtape is Life. do you and joke are great but never been my favorites. mono, indigo and right place wrong person are 100x better than RM first mixtape. but that doesnt make the first mixtape trash or disrespectful to the culture. its quite literally the opposite. anyways youll keep learning about bts/rm and may change your mind later or may stay the same doesnt really matter as long you enjoy yourself. like rm said in a song in the rm mixtape "my music aint for everybody"
