Thank you for your patience

Hi everyone - just wanted to keep in touch. As I mentioned in a previous post, it's been a hell of a journey for me to go from doing nothing all day to working on my own time 50 hours a week. Lately, I have rarely been meeting this goal. Because of this, I have been spending a lot of time on self-development (trust me, I'm not just playing vidya games all day lol). I really want to turn my work into a lifestyle.

I have a lot of thoughts on the matter, especially coming from what I would call a video game addiction. I hope to eventually make a video discussing this mental journey, so comment if you'd be interested in that :)!

On top of all that, this next video is just especially complicated (even compared to the previous "how it feels" videos). I think it's complicated enough to warrant a "behind the scenes" video, so comment if that would interest you as well! Maybe I will make it for patrons only.

I hope you're all doing great things!

Much love - Lazy

Thank you for your patience

You display a great level of self-consciousness and humility. It's always good to hear where your mind is at and what you're thinking of doing next! Keep up the good work, my dude.

This is such a nice, selfless attitude haha. If the BtS video becomes long enough I will poll whether or not you guys would like it patron-only

LazyPurple

I think we all have so much to relate about on the topic. The "constant urge" you describe has always been a factor in my life. My non-gamer friends talk about being "bored" and i'm like how can you be bored when there are VIDEO GAMES? It's a blessing and a curse like many things!

Thanks Ardate! I'm so blessed to have such understanding patrons :D

LazyPurple

It is actually their hats I am showing off. Two of the characters in the above screenshot actually are patrons :P I think it's a nice reward to be part of the video without harming the video experience, especially since I will probably never include a cosmetic loadout that I feel distracts from the video. The above two loadouts are really innocuous! Unfortunately I can't offer much without taking time away from actual video production, and I feel like this is a nice simple thing to provide.

LazyPurple

Also, on a separate note, I disagree with but respect your decision to offer inclusion of custom loadouts for Purple Pros in your videos. I think it doesn't add anything of value to the videos since thousands of other players are bound to have the same weapons equipped(if it's about the hats, that's just paying to show off in someone else's video). Since there's only five of them, maybe you can talk to them and offer something else in exchange? A $60 contribution blows mine way out of the water though, so it's not my place to decide...

I think it's valuable for a content creator like you to say something about this. Addiction to games becomes easier to deny when we derive a sense of "community" from the game and consume related content when we're not playing. It's not going overboard when we can call it socializing. We start to think it gives us an identity to wear like a badge of honor. See how easy it is to get trapped?

To be honest, hell yeah! Not sure if to make it patreons only though, because I want to EVERYONE to see it.

BTS video! hell yeah let's do it! Not sure if you should make it patrons only though; on one hand it could encourage people to become patrons, but on the other hand it can generate some ad revenue.

I think that if you wanted to talk about gaming addiction/habit breaking, a lot of people might find it helpful to hear any advice because a whole dang lot of us deal with the constant urge to play a game, any game, at any time of the day, and I don't think a lot of us have truly considered just how seriously it impacts our whole life.

A behind the scenes video seems like a wonderful idea! And don't worry Lazy, it's completely natural to take time to get used to such a rythm, we understand. Take care of yourself first.

Ardate

It all comes down to habits, and boy do you end up forming some strong habits after years of playing games for 10+ hours a day. Thankfully, many of the habits we form while gaming (seeking to improve, focusing on a goal) can be re-purposed for things like your job. There's always a bright side!

LazyPurple

As someone facing similar issues at the moment, that would honestly be very interesting to watch

The amount I can relate to this is uncanny. Felt the same way when I finally got a more committed job. And as I too feel I have a crippling gaming addiction, I know these things arent easy to adjust. Growing up with vidya games constantly available did this to me... But, all is understood. Very interested in both ideas!

Hey, that's okay. Thanks for the update!
