I’ve always wondered about the mechanics of Melisandre claiming Stannis as Azor Ahai reborn. I mean, it’s one thing to be so convinced by the visions you see in the flames that you ignore things that are missed in the prophesy, or having no doubt when the vision is vague. But it’s quite another to need to actively fix things to make it appear true. Does she go to a smith and get a new ‘Lightbringer’ when the old one is wrecked in the burning of the Seven? She has to actively glamour the next one to look all pretty. Shouldn’t she wonder why nothing happens without her making it so? It all seems so deliberate I wonder if she knows he’s not AA come again but doesn’t care. Maybe she’s just using him in some bigger play?
