Something my boyfriend pointed out is that Petunia is pretty much exploiting Poppy's "sweet spot" in this page. That part of her neck immobilizes her temporarily, something we see earlier in Chapter 3, page 34. Nice callback, even if it's taking a more violent turn.

That's assuming Poppy is able to deliver a good hit against Petunia's attacks.. Petunia can be knocked yards away, but she's also wicked fast in her muscle memory and is able to dish out hits in a quick and repetitive motion. Her skills of observation are keen enough that she could gather every grain of sand that was clouded up in Chapter 6. It's like the player in a fighting game who button mashes all the basic moves so you don't have any windows to actually hit them. You can try to land a hit, but they're gonna land a few blows on you before you succeed.

Well, the good guys are definitely on the ropes. I'm just a dollar a page patron, but I hope the head bad guy(s) lose a major round, soon. Just sayin'.

That motion blur in the fourth and fifth panels is so strong I almost thought we were seeing "Podunia", if you get me.

Who wants to guess that Poppy does the opossum thing and plays dead to catch Petunia off guard and knock her out? She has yet to do that in the story.

Could be the Clark Kent thing where she drops a disguise/facade to assume her True Form(tm).

Ow! Doesn't look good... unless Petunia is using some of her skills to control exactly what she is doing, vs. what it looks like she is doing. I'm still processing why Petunia would destroy her glasses....

Do we actually have anything to worry about though? Poppy killed a dragon while having a heart attack, it's not like she's not coming back from this and either talking Petunia back to her senses or kicking her ass.
