June Update - No New Who Reactions

Hello all, and happy almost-June!

First, I just want to thank you all so much for your patience. I know you're all aware that I'm on hiatus but I had hoped that I might be able to squeeze in a few reactions here or there, especially with new "Doctor Who" episodes dropping, but I'm afraid that isn't going to be possible.

With no new content coming in, I'm wondering how feasible it is to keep the Patreon going. I'd intended to keep it open as an archive so people could still catch up with existing content, but that leaves a good number of long-time supporters ❤️ without content to enjoy. Your continued support is absolutely amazing and you are the ones who have kept this place going for so long, but I wonder if it's time to wrap things up given these circumstances.

What are your thoughts? This is your place just as much as mine, because it never would have existed without you. Please feel free to leave your comments here - any feedback would help to determine where this place goes from here.

I wish I had better news (and more content!) but these developments seem to have a life of their own. Thanks so much for understanding, and for your support! XOXO FWR Monica

Thanks Amy! YouTube is a whole other thing to consider, but it appears that people are still watching those, too, so I guess it all stays open for now! LOL! Thank you for the feedback, and hope you're doing well!

Hi Mikael! Thanks for your response :-) You make a great point about the archive issue in general, which I agree with! I appreciate your feedback and will keep things open for as long as people want them. Thank you!

Hello, just wanted to chime in with the voices telling you to keep the account. I'm still making my way through your modern DW reactions. And might check the classic reactions once upon a time. If you delete it I would never be able to catch up with everything. And I'm sure other like me will come along over time wanting to see your reaction to these seasons years in the future. Also as a bit of an archivist it always saddens me to see content wiped off the internet, particularly interesting reactions like this. You don't need to feel bad about long time supporters, if they are strapped for cash they will just cancel. If they don't then you can just assume they are voluntarily supporting you. I've certainly stayed subscribed to people for ages in the past even when I was not actively watching their content just to support them. So don't feel too bad.

Mikael

Hey Monica! I was just watching some of your reactions on youtube, and I realized how much I missed it. Do not delete your Patreon.

Thanks Azmat, I appreciate the feedback! It helps to know that people still want it open, so I will try to keep it that way. :-)

Thanks Ian! If anything changes, I will most definitely give a significant heads-up. I'm glad to know that the reactions are still being watched! :-)

Thanks for the suggestions, Toby! I haven't watched any of season 1/14 yet, so they're still fair game for reacting at some point. Your suggestion of doing a review instead of reaction is interesting, and makes me think that maybe I should brainstorm some alternate content...? I will think about it! Thanks! :-)

Unless it's a hassle to keep it up, don't delete your Patreon.

I completely understand if you feel the need to terminate your Patreon; but, if you do,let us know a month or so in advance so that we can download the ones we would like to archive. I, for one, still watch them every so often; and I wouldn't want your reactions to simply vanish.

Hope you had a great month! Hmmm, I definitely don't think you should delete the page. That would be sad! Unless it costs you to do so, maybe keep it standing. Do you think you'd be able to record your reactions to the new season, and then just let them gather dust on your hard drive until you have the time to edit them? Whether that be in 1 year, 2 years, etc... Would that be feasible? I mean, you posted reactions to episodes from 2005 in 2018! If you don't like that idea, you should definitely go ahead and enjoy the episodes without reacting - you don't deserve to miss out waiting on free time that may never come. An alternative would be watching the episodes without reacting, and then updating us by recording a raw post-episode ramble? Basically just giving us your thoughts on the episodes without the need to edit. Or maybe you could watch the season, scribble down some notes, and do a live post-season Q&A/S14 review or something?
