Aaaah! So excited that you're finally meeting Sarah Jane for the first time in Classic Who. She's so young here! I felt the same way when I went through the same process as you not too long ago. I'm still going through Classic Who but I'm a bit ahead now. Fitting for me to watch your reaction today when it's Elisabeth Sladen's birthday. Perfect way to remember her. I really enjoy this story and the Sontarans are definitely more ruthless here. Both in appearance and actions. SJA's Last Sontaran story in Series 2 definitely took some notes from this (with making just one Sontaran to be a huge threat). It's also quite chaotic how Sarah Jane is just thrown into the mix with the medieval times and her struggling to process everything but that also makes it very entertaining and I just love how she takes complete control of the situation despite thinking that The Doctor is the enemy. Looking forward to your reaction the remaining parts. This is a great opener and introduction to SJ! :)

I believe it was called the slit scan technique something similar to the effect in the film 2001 A Space Odyssey. The Time Warrior introduced a new recurring monster the Sontarans! Also introduced Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith. I think she was in her early twenties. One of my favourite stories in Season 11.
