Years later Barry Letts and Terrence Dicks (the producer and script editor for all but one story of the third Doctor era. Derrick Sherwin was the producer for the third Doctor's first story, Spearhead From Space) said that they felt they overused the character in this season, but I disagree. I think the Master being in every story for this season gave it a unique feel and tied the whole season together in a satisfying way. They made a concerted effort to limit his appearances after this, a decision I agree with, but for this one season I really like the Master being the main threat in every story.
