I did feel the incidental music by Dudley Simpson was very jarring to the ears! It’s not one of my favourite scores in Season 8.

2022-06-25 17:43:18 +0000 UTCI remember an interview with the late Terrance Dicks who co-wrote The War Games. Somebody asked him about the War Chief being an earlier incarnation of The Master. He just replied no he wasn’t. It was producer Barry Letts and Terrance Dicks who devised the Master. They wanted a new recurring humanoid villain for Pertwee’s Doctor.
