Well, this wraps up all of the Doctor Who spin-off shows! I can't believe I'm done! I really enjoyed this show, and I wish I'd had more time to sit with it and do a more comprehensive (coherent?) commentary. π€£ If there's anything more specific you'd like to know about my thoughts on the show, feel free to leave a comment here & I'll be happy to answer. :-)
Thanks so much for watching with me! β€οΈ

Yes, it's almost like, I really appreciate the potential of the series more than the series itself. I wish they'd had a 10 or 12-13 episode first series because maybe it would have found its pace. It's too bad!

2021-12-31 08:49:15 +0000 UTCI really want to like Class more than I actually do. I mean I like what they tried to do with it but I don't find myself wanting to re-watch it or anything (your reactions aside). I do kind of wish they got a S2 because I have a sneaky suspicion it could have been one of those shows that figures itself out as it goes and it could have been really good. Plus we would have gotten more Quill! On the other hand, eight episodes of PTSD therapy - which is what it would need to be right? - might not have been that compelling ;)

2021-12-18 14:28:02 +0000 UTCClass is soooooo much better done than Torchwood Series 1-2 because Class only had one writer, Patrick Ness. Torchwood had ten writers in total! So the tone was all over the place and everyone I guess had different visions that they put forwards in their episodes. Sadly BBC didn't pick Class up for a second season due to underwhelming ratings, but it wasn't very well promoted at all and was originally only made available on the BBC iPlayer streaming service which didn't do it any favors. Patrick Ness recently revealed that the second season would've seen different factions of Weeping Anges engaged in a civil war on their home planet, which I guess is why some of them wanted to take Earth as their new home through the Arrival. There was also an episode involving the gang being transported back in time to the 90s by the Angels and having to communicate with characters in the present day via a Coal Hill time capsule, which just sounds like it would've been great. There are Big Finish audios for Class, but I saw someone say that they're set during S1.
