I dunno, I think the repetitious Dalek chanting is rather unnerving. There's a great scene in Eccelstone's finale where after being on the Dalek ship he goes back into the TARDIS and all you can hear is that same sounding Dalek repetition chanting of exterminate, seek and destroy etc and 9 just puts his head against the door in pain hearing it as he relives his worst nightmare after the Time War; hearing those Dalek killing repetitious chants again when he thought it was all over. So when I hear them here in this and that same repetitious uncaring chanting I find it quite chilling (but then as a child aged about 6 my parents thought it was a good idea to take me to the Doctor Who Exhibition in Blackpool whilst on holiday in the late 70's- but there was a rather big snag- there was a Dalek that patrolled up and down outside the entrance- I screamed Blackpool down, they could probably hear it all the way to the Pleasure Beach, I thought my parents had gone insane as they were taking me right to an evil kill everything on sight Dalek! And being told 'not be silly' it wasn't real didn't help as when they tried to drag me across the road towards it I thought they were giving me to the Dalek! Scarred for life lol. I thought we were all goners. I was so stressed and making such a scene my parents gave up. Was two years later before I was brave enough to dodge the bugger and go in, so maybe I'm more susceptible to Daleks lol).

some of the SFX and audio loops in classic who make me wonder how this show ever got to where it is. I feel like parents today would force their kids to turn it off the second the annoying repetition started. Though its probably a bit worse in these lost episodes as the audio is being recorded by a viewer, so in that respect surprised we get as clear of audio as we do.

Interesting thought about using the sound of the recorder and glass rim to get the right pitch for opening tbe prison lock. The fact this Doctor starts off almost obsessed with sound makes me think this must be the origin of the idea to create a sonic screwdriver.
