And you're right about Zarfia never loving Sanyu. Sanyu was her mother's favorite cub but only because Zarfia saw Sanyu as an extension of herself rather than an individual. When Sanyu rebelled against Zarfia the latter felt threatened because she could no longer control Sanyu.

Zarifa never saw Sanyu as her daughter or her own person, just Zarifa 2.0 and she lived her life through Sanyu not caring what her daughter wanted from life, from day 1 its never been about Sanyu which is what makes Zarifa's line about living for herself so hypocritical

Zarfia made Sanyu’s life a living hell! It’s no wonder she reacted the way she did!

What bothers me most however, is Zarfia’s hypocrisy. Zarfia rationalizes her filicide by accuses Sanyu of being selfish and ungrateful, when Zarfia is the one who was being selfish and ungrateful. Sanyu only condemned and disowned her mother because unlike Zarfia, Sanyu possesses a conscious! At least she cares about others besides herself!

I’ve figured as much. But that doesn’t justify Zarfia’s selfishness nor her hypocrisy it only explains it! If I were in Sanyo’s shoes I too would’ve been no better! Sanyu trusted that her mother could do no wrong and Zarfia betrayed that trust. Sanyu was not only angry but heartbroken! I would even too if I’ve found out that my parents were like Zarfia.

Zarfia's the one who is being ungrateful! She ruined her own daughters life so is it any wonder Sanyu disowned her? Zarfia brought Sanyu's wrath upon herself! The only mistake Sanyu made was not realizing how dangerous her own mother was. With a mom lil Zarfia Sanyu didn't need any enemies!

And Zarfia had the gall to accuse Her own daughter as ungrateful is hypocrisy to a whole new level Should Sanyu be grateful that her own mother took advantage of her trust and killed everyone she ever loved!?! And Sanyu didn't do anything wrong when she told her mother that she wasn't anywhere near has power-hungry as she was! Learning the blood toll of her assession certainly didn't anything to help! If Zarfia had a strip of honor she would admit that Sanyu was anything but ungrateful even if Zarfia remained evil!

I can't believe either not because It defied my already low expectations but rather because I didn't think Zarfia would life long enough to do so.

I cannot believe she killed Sanyu. I didn't expect that. All that WORK and scheming just for her to kill her? I'm starting to think it was never REALLY about Sanyu... That she was projecting her own anger about not being treated like she should/deserved onto her, and because Sanyu didn't want the things she wanted it made her so mad. I'm anxious to see what happens next.
