2025-01-22 06:39:21 +0000 UTCFor January’s submission, I’m sharing my flip of Mac Miller’s “Loud”. Always been a huge Mac fan, so this was a fun project. As it sits, I would consider it finished. However, I’ve not put this track through an extensive mastering process like the original I submitted last month. It’s unreleased, so I might still make some changes to give it a bit more character. For example, maybe adding some creative effects on the vocals during the second drop? Just to prevent it from becoming “stale”. I rinsed an earlier version in my NYE set and also sent this version to an artist who’s playing a big show next weekend. Curious to see how it stands up in loudness & clarity versus other tracks on a proper system Next month I’ll be submitting another one of my originals, but def looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this remix. I'm struggling to get the width right in the sound with the piano and string parts and I'm getting some funny sort of wobbles in the bass around the 1:15 mark which I can only assume is phasing issues? Will just monoing bass on everything fix that? Such I be doing this as standard?

Also I feel the vocals tone not there yet, I don’t know if it needs more low end or if I should add high frequencies. I want the song to feel wider what should I do? 2025-01-15 21:45:53 +0000 UTChi dude, new subscriber saying hi from germany ! love ur work! to explain a lil bit: this is my very first mix, its an original song from my own band, recorded last year in may. ive been going over it again and again, but I can't seem to really get all the frequencies separated well enough (its like 22 inputs so maybe a bit much for a first mix ig). kick is not cutting well enough through the mix and there's maybe a lil to much high end sparkle on the hats/cymbals. any tips for that and feedback in general for the mix would be greatly appreciated! and pls do excuse us being so locked in and/or any fuckups lmao, it was a one take project where both video and audio were recorded simultaneously (my final project work for uni!) https://youtu.be/z5IkFhQOaPo all the best and keep up the great work, till (the tall guitarist with long hair)
