ok ok happy holidays everyone! sorry I'm like 2 weeks behind on everything related to my life because I just got so caught up in the festivities.... I hosted a little hot pot gift exchange event at my crib and it took everything to prep!
I'm splitting this post into 2 parts because after working on it for about a week I realized I just have so many things to share I might as well break it down...
I'll make this post about toys (figures, model kits, plushies) and the next post about series and art.
SO I GET THIS QUESTION A LOT... but I mostly get my toys IRL from hole-in-the-wall knock off places like the Saigon Plaza in LA and you know, any Chinatown in any city.
1. Chobits poster, AngelBlue McDonalds keychain, Daisy&Coro from Sanrio poster, Keroppi wall hanging photoframe, Hysteric Mini sticker pack
2. Michael Lau figures, collaboration with Sony and Motorola :) @ ToyTokyo in New York... I bought the one on the right for Dom's Xmas gift
3. One of the most grail-y figures I've coveted since I watched the original series in 2008... Haruhi Suzumiya in a exo skeleton. It pops up if you search haruhi robot. The figure was one of those designs that some artist on Pixiv made and it became such a prominent design that a figure company made it real. Figure goes for like ~150-200 but I got it for only $50 from an ebay seller in Michigan w/ free shipping...
4. Left is a vintage coin-bank angelgotchi I bought in japan for 500 yen. It sits in a giant clear egg that I currently use to hold all my hairpins. Middle is a Major Motoko Kusunagi I got for $15 in a bundle. Right is the Frames Arms Girl Greifen model kit. It retails for about $60-70.
5. Bulma Variable No. 19 Motorcycle Model Kit by Figure-rise. I got this at a GunPla pop up in LA during my thanksgiving visit. It's super worth it imo if you're getting into model kits and easy to find online but here's a start.
6. More of my cute girls model kit (yes I built all of these) collection... I have Baselard from Frame Arms Girl on the left, Megami Device Shura Archer in the center, and Megami Device Sol Raptor on the right.
Megami Device is a different series than Frame Arms Girls but since they are both produced by the toy manufacturer Kotobukiya, they are of the same scale, quality, and cuteness! Frame Arms Girls is from an anime series of the same name and from my understanding, Megami Device is more magical themed (archers, witches, ninjas).
You can get them pretty much anywhere online but I like BigBadToyStore so here's a link for Frame Arms Girl and another for Megami Device. It's worth checking eBay etc.
Also to note I'm not sponsored or anything... I don't think I have to say that here but I seriously just love them as a store haha
also clearly I want to make figures/toys/model kits just give me some time ok!!!
