2024-01-14 00:12:37 +0000 UTCSooooo much happened in this episode! It's natural to be confused if you haven't read the novels. Let me help you as best I can! First off, Xie Lian and Hua Cheng were not invisible. Hua Cheng was just using magic to make them blend in and not be found suspicious so they could get close to Qi Rong (by using disguises and just lowering spiritual power levels enough that they wouldn't stick out). That's why Qi Rong's dumb followers didn't seem to notice them until Hua Cheng rushed out and used spiritual powers. The ghosts were saying that they ran into the exiled Pei Jr. on the road and he wiped out several of them, which they say isn't fair because "if he's exiled he shouldn't have powers". The statue Hua Cheng got upset by is indeed Xie Lian, depicted bound and kneeling in a submissive position. After the fall of Xianle, the public made such statues en mass so that angry former worshippers of Xie Lian could take out their anger and grievances on "him". That's why Hua Cheng is so angry about it and why he catches it and gently sets it down when it's thrown at him. Who dares insult his beloved! :P (Hua Cheng has plenty of other reasons to hate/be angry at Qi Rong, but it won't be revealed for quite some time.) There are three Ghost Kings/Supreme ranked ghosts: 1. Bai Wuxiang/White No-Face, who has been dead/unseen for hundreds of years. 2. He Xuan/Black Water, who is quiet and goes basically unseen and unnoticed. 3. Hua Cheng/Crimson Rain, the most active, currently powerful, and well known of them. Qi Rong/Green Lantern is *not* a Ghost King, but is close in rank, so he gets put in the same category and since he's very vain he claims he is actually one. Most of what Qi Rong does isn't at all very frightening, like how his "big plan" right now is to make General Pei fight with other gods and destroy some temples. He thinks this is big noise, but General Pei will probably never even notice. Qi Rong is essentially just an edgy teen trying to be noticed. That's all I can think of!
