2024-01-09 00:23:13 +0000 UTCThe subordinate that is tsundere towards Xie Lian is Mu Qing, who was Xie Lian's servant in the past. They have a complicated relationship based on a lot of things including just general personality clashes and misunderstandings; it will be explained much later in the series. The other one, Feng Xin, was Xie Lian's bodyguard and as such cares a lot more openly about him. He and Mu Qing also have a complicated relationship for the same reasons, mostly because he thinks Mu Qing just outright hates Xie Lian (not true). It's all... very confusing. Very very. The reason Hua Cheng asked if the officials missed him was talked about in season one; he had previously challenged and essentially destroyed 33 heavenly officials. He would have had to at least barge in on the spiritual Discord chat to issue that challenge, so he's just saying "long time no see" to everyone who was a witness before. (Notice how quickly everyone went silent and pretended to be too busy to talk to him once they realised he was there so that they wouldn't become a target). As someone that knows the whole story, I love this episode, but I definitely see how it can be confusing. And I do very much love Hua Cheng kicking down the door to rescue Xie Lian before tenderly holding him. 🥰
