The basics of the Yi City arc so far - Xue Yang slaughtered the Chang clan but the son wasn't there. Xue Yang is captured by Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan, taken to Daddy Jin, who puts him in the dungeon instead of immediate death. At some point, Yang probably recreated the broken half of the amulet. Chang Ping (the son of the family) takes back his accusation, so Yang is set free. Angry with Xingchen and Song for catching him, Yang takes revenge by wiping out the temple where Song grew up and trained, he poisons Song's eyes, blinding him, and escapes. Xingchen, feeling guilty, takes out his own eyes and gives them to Song. So now Song can see but Xingchen is blind. They argue and separate but it seems like Song tries to find Xingchen after he cools off. Yang is "caught" again by the Jins and Yao supposedly had him executed (Daddy Jin has passed away by this point). I think at this point, XIngchen kills Chang Ping for taking back his accusation, which allowed Yang to be set free. At some point, XIngchen is wandering around killing corpses and bumps into Jing, who is not really blind but has white eyes so she pretends to be - she's a little thief and con artist. They both find Yang, hurt for some unknown reason, there by the road. In the present time, Xingchen is dead and so is Jing. Her ghost has been waiting for someone to come along, she helped guide Wangji to the juniors Yang had captured and tied up. Yang definitely has the remade amulet and he's also turned Song into a fierce corpse like Wen Ning, but Song has the skullpiercing pins so he's under Yang's control. Xingchen somehow killed a lot of the Yi City people and Song. No one else can do the Frost technique, though Yang can use Xingchen's sword like he would use any normal sword. The Frost mark on the bodies can only come from Xingchen. Wangji and Wuxian are so cute now. Wangji doesn't have to pretend he doesn't know that is Wuxian in Mo Xuanyu's body anymore. Wuxian is definitely an idiot when it comes to love but to be fair - the idea that Wangji loves him is a pretty far out and crazy idea for anyone who hasn't seen him the way we viewers get to see him. Wangji has always been very stoic, follows the rules, and barely talks and all the times he tried to help Wuxian in the past...well, Wuxian wasn't in the right frame of mind to understand. Now, Wangji is willing and able to show more emotion, so Wuxian might eventually figure things out, haha.

I feel so happy for lan zhan - he went through so much trying to protect wei ying before he died and having to deal w the pain of losing him after but he was blessed w a second chance, if I were him I would fix up too 😂. even if the other person remains oblivious I would do all the things I couldn’t do before. saying wwx went through a lot before he died is an understatement and it was a battle that would’ve felt so lonely. so even if he doesn’t understand it yet I’m glad he has someone that will be by his side this time around. we get to see more of the juniors in this arc (they’re my babies and I love them, yes even jin ling). Jin ling is a spoiled brat and is too forward and impulsive, but yeah he’s had a hard life and the pressure jiang cheng puts on him doesn’t help either. It’s easy to love him or dislike him and I wouldn’t blame you regardless. sizhui is the #1 best boy 🥺, he beat wen ning for that spot on my list. finally, yi city arc! it’s one of many people’s favourite arcs in the fandom. can’t wait to delve into the full story and hear your opinion on xue yang and everything. looking forward to the next episode!
