2021-06-10 17:17:48 +0000 UTCHi, means a lot! Do not use subsurface modifier while painting textures/grooming particles; delete unused geometry (base sculpt etc; make your mesh lowpoly. Blender crashed for me 20 times because of it. my pc is 3 years old, tutorial is from 2013 and done on Mac... but yeah subsurface IS to blame
