Chapter 45 - I am Spider Tobey

Hello! I'm a fan of Black Widow cough**cough I mean, I'm Peter Parker.
And right now, there's a certain redhead looking at me with funny eyes.

"Aren't you going to ask me anything besides my name? And aren't you going to ask your partners for their opinion?" she asked with a teasing smile.

"Partners? Oh! You must be talking about my wives. And nah, they don’t mind. As for knowing more, well… what are your three sizes?" I replied jokingly after calming my inner fanboy.

At that moment, Natasha still kept her smile while narrowing her eyes slightly, and I got smacked on the head.

The smack came from Gwen, who arrived at that moment and stood in front of me.

"Don't mind my husband, he's just messing with you. Hello, I'm Gwen Stacy," Gwen apologized and then introduced herself. She also knew who Natasha was—after all, we had seen their universe as a movie using The Web of Life and Destiny before coming here.

"Hey! My question is totally professional; she needs a uniform." I interrupted over Gwen's shoulder with a grin.

Gwen put a hand on my face and pushed me away without even looking at me.

She then started talking with Natasha while I stood to the side drawing circles on the ground.

I felt that Natasha was amused by my actions, which put a goofy smile on my face.

Okay, I wasn’t that into her, but I was interested.

I turned off my automatic bond when I came to this universe, so no love at first sight. In my other universe, I was a kid, and it was hard to have romance with other kids, but I didn’t want to lose the girls, so I left the bond on. But in this universe, I’m an adult, so I thought it would be more fun to leave the bond off and enjoy things slowly.

"Alright, you start tomorrow," I heard Gwen say, which put a smile on my face.

I got up, shook Natasha’s hand, and said, "Welcome!"

Peter, give me that!... No! It’s mine!... I’ll give it back later, just hand it over!... Okay…

Natasha Romanoff P.O.V… Borrowed this from Peter, returning it soon.

I had just returned from overseas when I was summoned by Fury.

Entering the room, he closed the file he was working on, clasped his hands together, and got straight to the point.

"Natasha, we've obtained information on the possible identity of a group of five vigilantes who have been standing out recently in New York. Your mission is to infiltrate the restaurant where they work and earn their trust. We need you to discover their intentions, their abilities, and whether they are qualified enough to join our team," Fury said with a serious face as he pushed a folder across the table toward me.

"Understood," I said as I picked up the folder and opened it.

Spider-Family, huh? If I didn’t know Fury, I’d think he was trying to make a joke by sending a Black Widow to a Spider-Family.

"I’ll start the mission immediately," I said and left the room.

I entered the restaurant and saw one of the targets. And just like the reports said, he was a handsome young man with black hair. In fact, I’m sure he’s the most attractive man I’ve ever seen.

When he saw me, he seemed mesmerized, which I found amusing. After all, according to the reports, he was in a very close relationship with the other four beautiful women who worked with him.

So, I teased him about hiring me so easily. And he told me he was married to the other women.

Then he made a slightly perverted joke, and one of his wives arrived.

I was surprised—after all, that woman was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen in my life. A coincidence? The two most attractive people I had ever seen living together? But in the following days, I discovered it couldn’t be a coincidence when the five most attractive people I had ever seen were living together.

And I also pretty much confirmed that they were the Spider-Family.

Enough, give it back!... Okay, okay, here it is, crybaby…

Alright, crybaby back cough*cough* Peter back.

Natasha has been living with us for a week now… literally. After just one day of work, somehow the girls convinced her to move in with us. Not that she didn’t want to—after all, she was spying on us.

Not that she had much work to do with that, since we patrolled openly. We weren’t trying to hide anything.

At this moment, we were coming back from patrol and entering the apartment.

When we opened the door, Natasha was sitting in front of the TV, drinking a bottle of water.

"Why do you guys always go out and come back so late?" she asked with a curious look, though she already knew our secret identities—she was just teasing us for fun.

"Well, we have to patrol the streets," I said, shrugging, as I heard a "pfffff." Poor Natasha, caught off guard.

"Cough**cough What do you mean by patrolling?" she asked after choking. Ursula was patting her back.

I then looked at her as if she were stupid and asked, "You still haven’t realized that we’re the Spider-Family? I’m Spider-Man, Gwen is Ghost-Spider, MJ is Scarlet-Spider, Ursula is Spider-Angel, and Emily is Spider-Rogue," I explained with a grin.

"Aren’t you supposed to hide your identities? Do you trust me that much?" she asked, perplexed.

"Nah, we just like wearing uniforms and using codenames," Emily said while grabbing a beer from the fridge.

Natasha looked at all of us in surprise, seeking confirmation.

"It’s like she said," Gwen shrugged and agreed as she flopped onto the couch.

"So I can go outside and tell everyone?" Natasha asked, testing us.

"It’s better not to. Fans are annoying. MJ has fans because she wants them, but I don’t," I said, shuddering at the thought of fans pestering me in my daily life.

Then we talked about other things for a while.

Until Natasha asked, "So, can you guys tell me what your powers are?" She seemed unsure whether she should have asked.

"Well, they’re not powers—it’s a suit Gwen made. For now, we can climb walls, shoot webs, have a slight increase in strength, and yesterday Gwen added four spider legs to the back, but we haven’t had a chance to use them yet," I said while taking advantage of the moment when Emily was distracted and stole her beer, taking a sip.

"Hey!" she shouted, snatched the beer from my hand, and bit me.

"Ouch, ouch!" I said as I tried to pry a tiny, rabid puppy off my arm.

While Emily and I played around, Natasha scratched her hand anxiously and couldn’t help but ask, "Can I have a suit too?" She looked nervous.

The room then fell silent.

"Erh… Natalie, look, we really like you, but…" I started but was interrupted.

"No, it's okay! I was too abrupt, don’t worry, it was just a momentary impulse. I know we've only known each other for a week, so there’s no way you can trust me," she quickly said, apologizing for her request.

"Well… actually, we know you're a loyal person, Natasha. The problem is that we also know you're not loyal to us," I said with an apologetic expression.

Hearing that, Natasha immediately stood up and did a forward roll to put distance between us.

"Was the roll really necessary?" I asked with a bitter smile.

"So you knew who I was. Since when?" she asked, her face wary, her stance ready for a fight.

The girls and I stayed in our places without changing anything, the only difference being our ironic smiles.

"Since the beginning," I said, scratching my neck with a wry smile.

"Then why did you let me in?" she asked.

"Because we like you. You have a good heart and are fun to have around. And we’ve seen how loyal you are to your friends," Ursula said seriously, her voice gentle.

"What do you mean? What are you talking about?" she asked, confused. To her, it sounded like we knew her better than she knew herself.

"Sigh Well, Natasha, you might not believe this, but… we’re not from this universe," I said with a smile after sighing.
