Omae wa mou shindeiru!
NANI?!
Cough
It's been a month since we arrived.
And finally, yesterday, I became a Grandmaster.
[Player: Peter Parker
Level: 11 (214 / 20480 exp)
Skill Points: 4
Skills:
Street Fighting - Grandmaster (Limit - Evolution conditions not met)]
[Skill Levels: Beginner (1 point) - Apprentice (2 points) - Intermediate (4 points) - Advanced (8 points) - Master (16 points) - Grandmaster (32 points)]
I'll start saving points now for when I gain superhuman abilities.
The girls are doing well too.
All of them have their two skills at the master level.
We also got our fake identities through MJ and a street food vendor license to start laundering our money. Úrsula was in charge of the food cart.
We didn’t nerf such basic day-to-day skills—for example, Mary Jane can sing, and Úrsula can cook with the same skills we had in our home universe.
Mary Jane even started singing to help launder the money and also because she enjoyed it. And both Úrsula’s food and MJ’s singing were becoming popular.
At that moment, we were all sitting on a bench next to Úrsula’s food cart.
MJ was typing on her laptop at the speed of light, and out of nowhere, she jumped up and shouted excitedly, “I DID IT!!”
“HUH?! What happened, MJ?” Gwen asked, surprised.
“I enrolled us in Harvard!” she said excitedly and proudly.
“”””OHH!”””” The other girls and I were shocked.
Using only the internet in 2008 to secure a spot at Harvard is borderline impossible.
“How did you do that?” Even I was shocked by MJ’s achievement. Even if she were a Grandmaster in Hacking, it would be very difficult—let alone as just a Master.
“Our documents are already perfect, our background is spotless too. Our academic and extracurricular records have been refined. The only thing missing was our letter of recommendation. I had to hack into many school systems to get my hands on the signatures of recently deceased teachers. That way, I got the recommendation letters. Harvard’s applications have already closed, but I managed to infiltrate the system and schedule our interviews. Fortunately, interviews are still ongoing, so I made it.” MJ explained in one breath.
“Great job, MJ!!” I said, standing up to hug her and shower her with kisses.
“Very clever, MJ! Since we’re late for applications, a recommendation letter from someone who recently passed will cause fewer issues if they call the teachers to ask about us… but what if they call the principals of the schools we supposedly came from?” Gwen asked, expressing her doubts.
“Well, I’m a master in hacking and programming. So, I made a small AI that redirects Harvard’s calls to those schools and simulates the voices and behavior of those principals and staff. The AI will speak for us,” she said with a mischievous grin.
“Well, that’s amazing, MJ, but there’s a small problem…” I said hesitantly.
“Huh? What is it, Pete? Did I forget something?” MJ asked, confused and thoughtful.
“Erhh, you see, MJ… we’re already practically masters in our chosen fields, and with a few more points, you all will be Grandmasters… so I don’t see the point of going to college anymore.” I said bitterly, wearing an apologetic expression.
“Y-Y-YOU!!” MJ’s eyes widened, and she exclaimed furiously at the wasted effort.
“My bad, my bad!! Sorry, MJ, I forgot about this and didn’t know you were trying so hard.” I said, raising my hands in apology with an ironic smile while being shaken back and forth by my collar by a furious, red-haired MJ—whose eyes were now glowing red too.
“Damn it, I’ve been working on this for almost a month!” she said angrily, but then she calmed down and suddenly had an idea—her eyes sparkled.
“But we can take other courses outside our fields!” she said excitedly, realizing her work wasn’t useless.
“Erhh…” I started to say.
“DAMN IT!! Don’t come at me with another ‘erhh’!!” She got mad again.
Well, she spent a month working hard to surprise me while the rest of us were just goofing around. And when she finally succeeded, I told her it was pointless… yeah, she had a reason to be mad.
“MJ, love, please think for a moment. We nerfed our minds to normal people’s level. Imagine how much effort we’d have to put in just to avoid being the dumbest in the class at Harvard if we take unrelated courses. And we can’t waste our precious skill points just to have an easy college life.” I tried to calm the tigress down.
“DON’T CALL ME TIGRESS!” she shouted and started shaking me again.
Damn couple’s telepathy!
Peter out.
