Chapter 39 - I am Spider Tobey

This is Peter Parker speaking directly from body two.
Why am I speaking from body two and not body one?
Because in my native universe, I’m eating Cheetos and watching anime!
But here in the MCU, I’m walking with the girls through the streets, admiring the differences between the universes.
“What do we do now? We’re basically illegal immigrants!” Ursula said anxiously. After all, she and her father had been illegal immigrants before, and she didn’t want to go back to those days.
“Calm down, Ursula. Let’s find some criminals, beat them up, and steal money. With money, everything is easy!” Emily said, trying to reassure Ursula. But she quickly froze at MJ’s response.
“Emily, we’ve sealed our powers and abilities; we can’t fight criminals.” MJ said.
“Should we give ourselves a starter gift package?” I asked with a hesitant face.
“NO!” Emily quickly and loudly responded. She continued, “We want challenges, right? If we start stealing from the beginning, we’ll always resort to it whenever things get tough!” Emily said, puffing her cheeks.
I smiled, placed my index finger on her cute cheek, and started pinching.
“Emily is right. We’ll figure something out!” I said with a smile.
As we walked, we saw a shop window displaying the news.
Gwen read the headline out loud, “Disappearance of Tony Stark. Latest information on Stark Industries' CEO… well, this looks recent, so we have about three months before Tony returns.” She analyzed with a hand on her chin.
“Then we need to get ahead of things. Let’s find a dangerous alley and use our looks to cause trouble!” Emily said with a grin, flipping her hair back with her hand.
Well, that little sentence ruined my mood. I had already threatened about five guys who whistled at my girls—after all, their looks were no joke.
Emily smirked mischievously, seeing me annoyed.
Of course, I’m also handsome, and some women whistled at me too, which annoyed the girls as well.
“Well, if we can’t handle it and end up dead, we’ll have to wait a year before we can respawn.” I said, finally agreeing with Emily.
Of course, we can’t actually die. Even though our powers are suppressed, they’re still there. You can’t just kill a symbiote with a gunshot. But for fun, we would simulate death. Likewise, there’s no possibility of the girls being… you know. I hate that word, especially when it involves them, and if any criminals tried, I would unleash my power and kill them… or worse.
Moving on. We were walking and talking about these things without much concern about being overheard.
Asking for directions along the way, after 30 minutes of walking, we arrived in Hell’s Kitchen.
“Ugh, we’ve been in Hell’s Kitchen for less than five minutes, and we’re already being mugged.” Gwen said, shocked by the city’s crime efficiency.
“It’s been a while since I’ve seen criminals. For the past few months, I’ve just been swinging through the city and haven’t seen a single one.” Emily said with a mix of happiness and bitterness. She didn’t know whether to be happy or sad… of course, she was just joking—she’s very happy that crime hasn’t been frequent in our world.
“Hey, beauties, stay calm. We’re gonna take you somewhere nice. If you don’t run, you won’t get hurt. You too, kid, better not try anything funny.” One of the seven guys said as they pulled out knives and surrounded us.
I looked at the girls and smiled.
We didn’t even need to say anything; each of us rushed at an opponent.
We may have forgotten how to throw a punch or use our bodies with agility, but we didn’t forget the countless fights we’ve had.
Taking advantage of the thugs’ surprise at being attacked by seemingly weak youngsters, I rushed at one, dodged to the side of his sloppy stab, and punched him in the jaw. Though my punch wasn’t great, it still dazed him. I then jumped and delivered another punch, using my body weight to increase the impact. The punch connected, and he collapsed, unconscious.
Panting slightly from the effort and adrenaline, I didn’t stop and ran toward the next guy, who was about to pull out a gun after seeing his buddies get beaten.
I quickly closed the distance, grabbed the barrel of the gun he was raising, and held it firmly, pointing it at the ground. Since my hands were occupied and I was too close, I had to use my head to deal with the situation quickly.
Two headbutts later, his nose was broken, and he was out cold.
It’s always good to use your head.
I looked at the last one, and he was already pointing a gun at me.
Unfortunately for him, Emily’s flying kick came too fast, and he didn’t even see how he got launched to the side.
He landed near MJ, who stepped on his hand holding the gun and, with her other foot, stomped on his face until he passed out.
That was the last one—the girls had already taken care of the other four.
“HAHAHA! It’s been so long since I felt this adrenaline in a real fight outside of simulations!” Emily laughed heartily, a bit of sweat on her forehead, showing she hadn’t exerted herself like this in a long time.
“Yes! That was so much fun!” Ursula said with a smile, also slightly sweaty.
As the girls talked, we suddenly heard a sound in our minds.
[Ding
Total enemies defeated: 7 untrained gangsters
Equipment used: 7 knives, 2 pistols
Average points per enemy: 15
Points per knife: 10
Points per pistol: 50
Total points: 275
Points per person (5): 55]
[Ding Level Up!!]
[Ding Level Up!!]
Well, leveling up is normal. Level one requires 10 points, level two requires 20, and it doubles with each level.
‘Status,’ I commanded in my mind.
[Player: Peter Parker
Level: 2 (25 / 40 XP)
Skill points: 3
Skills:
Street Fighting - Beginner (Upgradeable - 2 points)]
[Skill levels: Beginner (1 point) - Apprentice (2 points) - Intermediate (4 points) - Advanced (8 points) - Master (16 points) - Grandmaster (32 points)]
Well, that’s our status! We earned 55 points and leveled up twice.
“Being a player is so cool!!” Gwen couldn’t resist and blurted out.
“”””Agreed!!”””” The girls and I said, laughing.
