Chapter 38 - I am Spider Tobey

The people in the room were me and the girls.
“Banning powers?” Ursula suggested.
“I think it would get boring quickly, and Peter would just use technology, making us OP again,” MJ gave her opinion.
“What if we only block technology? Our powers will grow very fast, after all, our DNA is practically unbeatable,” Gwen said.
“Blocking technology and powers doesn’t sound very fun. Going to another world just to be normal people would become boring quickly,” Emily said with a troubled look.
“What if we block everything but create a system where, based on our actions, we receive rewards? The rewards could range from sending some equipment to our second body to unlocking memories,” I said, rubbing my chin thoughtfully with a smile.
“We could have levels and earn skill points!” Ursula said excitedly.
“Sounds good to me, but let’s not do something like adding points to strength, agility, and other attributes on a status screen—only skills,” I explained my idea.
“Peter, we’re not going to give ourselves any power, right?! Let’s leave that for us to find in that universe. For example, if we find the Lizard serum, a screen should appear saying we can take the serum without side effects for a certain number of points, and there should also be an option to add points to evolve the Lizard serum!” Emily started rattling off this long sentence quickly, her beautiful cheeks flushing with excitement.
“Perfect! That’s it! So there won’t be any rewards, just skill points!” I said, getting excited.
“”””YES!!”””” The girls shouted excitedly as well.
Soon we started setting up our system… or rather, I started doing that while the girls kept bothering me. Fortunately, I love being bothered by them.

Two days later, everything was ready.
At this moment, we were walking across a bridge in a room that looked a lot like the X-Men’s Cerebro. Of course, everything I make is more beautiful, so it was a black room that made it seem like we were floating in the universe.
“Well, well, girls, let’s start by ripping a piece of your bodies off. And don’t worry, it’ll just hurt a lot!” I said in a sinister tone, like a villain.
“Oh no!! I can do anything, just not that!” MJ bit her lip and started speaking with a pleading but sensual voice.
Well, I can only say that the girls started playing damsels in distress and almost awakened something in me, so I had to stop them before we got distracted by other things.
After some playful teasing, I gave an order for the AI-Chip to begin.
From the platform floor, five tubes emerged and stood before us.
Each of us placed a finger on top of a tube and manipulated the symbiote to drop a single drop of blood.
Don’t underestimate this drop of blood. Even though we had normal human sizes, we were actually giants.
Especially me—a single drop of my blood could flood a city.
The tubes retracted into the floor, and the room fell silent.
“What now?” Gwen asked.
“Now we have to leave for the teleportation to begin,” I said with a smile.
Under my lead, we began exiting the bridge.
“What world are we going to?” Emily asked excitedly.
“I was thinking of going to Earth-199999, what do you all think?” I asked for their opinion.
“Seems like a good option. Other Earths usually have absurd beings and some crap I don’t want to deal with. Meanwhile, some have nothing special. Earth-199999 is medium difficulty, so it sounds fun!” Gwen agreed with the idea, just as excited as Emily.
How do they know what happens in other universes? Well, ever since I connected to the Web of Life and Destiny, I did some research. Just like Miguel O'Hara used the Web to see what was happening across the multiverse, I could too. And since it’s me, I made some upgrades.
That’s how our movie nights at home became thrilling.
The biggest profit was that after I got my hands on the Web, I could observe so much across the multiverse, which gave my research speed a boost. After all, there’s a lot of inspiration in the multiverse, and I can steal plenty of ideas. Of course, it’s the AI-Chip that does most of the work, stealing information from the multiverse.
“Girls, I don’t feel like being a kid again, so I’m thinking of going in as adults to the other universe,” I voiced my opinion before stepping outside the room with the girls.
“AGREED!” Emily shouted instantly. She hated not being taken seriously and being treated like a child, so going back to being one was a big no for her.
Well, I can’t disagree with her feelings—being a kid sucks… at least when you have a super brain and superpowers.
“What about our identities?” M.J. asked, bringing up another subject, not even considering the idea of being a kid again.
“Let’s go in without identities to increase the difficulty!” Emily said, smiling.
“OK! If everyone agrees, that’s how it’ll be! Everyone ready?” I asked.
“Pete, wait!” Ursula called out, remembering something.
“What is it, Ursula?” I asked curiously.
“What if there are other versions of us on that Earth? At least we know yours exists. Are we going to use the same names?” She asked, tapping her index fingers together.
“We’ll use the same names—it’s not a big deal. Lots of people have the same name. And even if they find out we’re the same, it’ll be more fun! Okay, does everyone agree?” I explained and looked for confirmation.
“”””We agree!!”””” The girls said together, all smiling excitedly.
“Good! Let’s get this show on the road. AI-Chip, start Operation Rebirth!” I ordered with a fierce smile.
[beep Goal established!]
[beep Directives confirmed!]
[beep Calculating coordinates…]
At that moment, the entire room began to spin with a beautiful light show.
[beep Coordinates obtained! Earth-199999. Date: January 23, 2008…]
[beep Calculating consequences of world insertion…]
[beep World subject to timeline branching due to interference.]
[beep Isolating branch…]
Holes appeared in the spinning walls, and some technological ship-like devices emerged and flew around the room before disappearing in flashes of light.
[beep Branch successfully isolated! Renaming…]
[beep Renaming complete! New designation: Earth-1999992]
[beep Isolating powers and memories of abilities and technical knowledge from the hosts’ new bodies. Collaboration required from subjects.]
Upon hearing this, the girls and I proactively isolated our powers and technical knowledge from our new bodies.
[beep Isolation complete!]
[beep Adjusting quantum state of bodies for quantum resonance.]
[beep Quantum state adjusted! Testing world rejection…]
[beep No rejection found! Current status of bodies in the new universe: Native.]
[beep Beginning transfer…]
[beep 3…2…1…]
[beep Have a good trip!]
There was a blinding flash of light, and immediately after, the room stopped spinning, and everything returned to normal.
I looked at the girls and smiled.
Because we were already in another universe, in our new bodies.
“We’ve arrived!”
