Chapter 33 - I am Spider Tobey
Added 2025-03-09 17:13:13 +0000 UTCHey, I’m Peter Parker, but soon, I will truly be Spider-Man.
Today, I enter as a man and leave as a spider.
Well, my friends, soon, I will be a true wizard.
Today, I enter as a Muggle and leave as a wizard.
Are you confused? Don’t be! By the end of this day, you’ll agree with me.
I was with the girls on a balcony inside my base, looking at a massive cage.
“Pete, what is that? And why do you need it?” asked the ever-curious Gwen.
“That, my love, is none other than Arachne, the spider! Waaahhh, whistles**applause.” I said and received excited cheers, whistles, and claps.
The girls looked at me with blank eyes, barely hiding their amusement. Maybe it was because I was the one making all those sounds.
They soon couldn’t hold back and laughed at my antics. Most women in love always laugh at whatever nonsense their beloved does. Well, that’s true for others, but my women laugh because I’m just that funny and charming, no doubt about it.
“Alright, let’s get serious now. You remember when I said that every hero who gets bitten by a spider or gains spider-related powers becomes a Spider Totem? Well, they connect to something called The Web of Life and Destiny. The Web is basically a mystical force that connects all forms of life and fate across the multiverse. Although I’m not entirely sure about the Web’s current state, I believe there shouldn’t be an issue connecting to it as long as I make the right preparations. What I want is to take advantage of the Web’s connection and draw dimensional magic to use for myself. I should also be able to access a cosmic map of infinite realities,” I explained.
“Uhhmm, Pete, we’ve already given up trying to make sense of your plans, just do whatever you want. Now tell me, I understood the Spider Totem stuff and all, but why the hell did you make a spider that’s 100 meters tall?” asked an exasperated M.J.
“M.J, that’s a question with an obvious answer! Pete went overboard again!” Emily said with a smile as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Umu Umu, he definitely did.” Ursula said, using ‘Umu,’ which almost gave me a heart attack from sheer cuteness overload. And no need to ask—I was the one who taught her to do that. In fact, I taught the girls several cute sounds, but they almost never use them. And now that I remember this, I’m feeling sad…
“Alright, you all know how I am. Even if it wasn’t necessary, I thought it was too boring to just fuse the genome of 15 spiders as it was supposed to be in this universe. So, I fused all the spiders in the world. I created even more variations of species, enhanced what I wanted, and did everything I could to make the ultimate spider. But in the end, it was still just a spider the size of a human. So I made it stronger, bigger, more venomous, more flexible, and added everything I could. Then I controlled it, trained it, and pushed its body to the limit—just so it could bite me right now.” I finished my sales pitch with a serious and confident expression.
The girls stared at me for a moment, turned around, and left without saying anything.
I stood there in shock for a while, and when I came back to my senses, I crouched down, hugged my knees, and muttered:
“The price of genius… It’s so lonely and cold at the top.”
I stayed there, acting all dramatic for a bit, but soon I got up.
“Haaah, enough messing around, let’s get to the main event. I can’t wait to play with magic, hehehe.” I said, walking toward the cage.
As I got closer to the 100-meter-tall spider, I started growing until I was 1 kilometer tall.
The spider looked at me with reverence and loyalty and spoke:
“Master, I understand that I must bite you, but why put me in a cage? I would never dare to run away; Master can trust me. I only dare to bite you because it was your order. Otherwise, I would rather die than do so.” asked the loyal spider, afraid that its master had caged it because he thought it was rebellious.
Ah, I forgot to tell the girls that I gave the spider super intelligence—silly me.
Well, no matter, they’ll find out later.
“Arachne, don’t worry, I only did this for the sake of dramatization. I trust you, don’t worry, hahaha,” I reassured the sensitive spider.
“Phew, for a moment, I was afraid Master hated me,” she said.
“Hate you? Never! Don’t worry, little Ara-chan. Well, Ara-chan, the time has come. Please, bite me and inject all the venom you can. And before you ask, I won’t die from this little bit. Don’t you trust me? Just do as I say.” I said, preemptively blocking her hesitation before she could start worrying about hurting me.
Arachne, who was about to protest, found herself without arguments. So after hesitating for a moment, she clenched her pincers and did as her master commanded.
Soon, I felt Arachne’s bite, so I had Venom take over the process and perfectly fuse it with my body. Without Venom, Arachne wouldn’t even be able to pierce my skin, and even if she could, her venom would be immediately neutralized by my body.
Soon, I could feel changes occurring within me. I felt my body growing stronger, much stronger. I didn’t understand how this could happen when my body was already at its peak, but by using the knowledge I had absorbed from the Hive through Venom, I quickly realized it was magic altering my body.
Well, I was now officially connected to the Web. So I used some of my deductions about magic and isolated the connection. That way, although I lost the power I had just received, no one would know that I had accessed the Web. Now I could use my own means to access and use it without being detected.
Now, I have a lot of research and deductions to work on, so I’m signing off.
Peter Parker out.
