Reacting to "Up 2 Me" by Yeat

Wanted something that was not lyrically intense today, something I could kick back and enjoy and give my poor brain a break. Next week, I'm breaking away from hiphop and will listen to Vespertine by Bjork, been wanting to get that one done while it's wintry weather outside.

Enjoy!

I would love to see you dissect ‘The New Sound’ - Geordie Greep. The theme is simple to grasp but I just know you’ll have a great laugh listening.

A tidbit about the last song on this one, if you didn't get curious and look into it yourself already, in the reversed bridge he gives a little bit of insight into some personal details about his life with drugs, the devil and signing his record deal. "Said to my guys I cant leave these drugs What do I do when the devil come? He said 'I'm watchin' you,' ahh, Spent all my money, I'm too up, man I'm done with with these hoes, Ahh, I can't do it no more, ahh, I signed about 4 months ago, Worst decision I've chose, and it's just the truth." This song always struck me just because of that part, and a part of me believes, or thinks he used to/does believe in that sort of 'magic' with the tattoo and the devil. He's illustrated it over the course of his career through this album, and the ones before like 'I'm So Me' where the cover art is genuinely him playing a game of chess with the devil with a lot of money on the table, and his EP 'Different Creature; where his shadow has some horns coming out of his head. Idk, conspiracy aside, he definitely went for some symbolism in his early work before his 'mainstream' evolution took place.
