You should listen to The Life of Pierre 5

Weeknd this Friday Initially I thought I was going to have to do it a week late due to IRL stuff, but things shifted, so it's on 👍

Bob_the_Poppop

lol, it's crazy isn't it? The mind is a strange and powerful thing sometimes

Bob_the_Poppop

🙏

Bob_the_Poppop

For sure!

Bob_the_Poppop

Yeah, I feel ya on that one. I wanna stay in the hiphop lane as much as I can, but you're right—there's tons of amazing music out there. Solange, D'Angelo (Black Mesiah) and Prince have been on my list for years now, literally. Heard plenty of good things about Clairo. Every week, the hardest thing about this channel is choosing what to listen to :)

Bob_the_Poppop

That and LP1 are the two albums I getting recommendations on the most. I'll sit down with them someday 👍

Bob_the_Poppop

Listening to this really was its own experience. Honestly, my Fridays have routinely fallen into this kind of 'eusexua' state. No distractions, trying to open my mind, enjoying the ride... all good things :)

Bob_the_Poppop

Also, thanks for the suggestion, a couple people have mentioned Post Malone recently

Bob_the_Poppop

You can always DM through Patreon, I respond to those regularly

Bob I’m not sure if there’s a way to message you without just commenting on one of these posts, but an album I think you would really enjoy is Austin by Post Malone. It released the same day as Travis’s Utopia so it got overlooked completely but it’s a great listen and I think you’d love it.

This was so much fun to watch- really appreciate the way you intentionally opened your mind as you started into the album. I interpret ‘eusexua’ as pure immersion in an experience and it seems like that’s what happened for you here haha. I view FKA Twigs as the epitome of what it means to be an artist- she is a master of so many crafts and dedicates herself fully to her art. Would love to see you dive deeper into her discography.

We NEED the Magdalene reaction for the cellophane video alone. Not to mention, it's an amazing album.

Colby Kultgen

On a side side note, if you ever get just a bit of time and you’re open to watching anime, please watch One Punch Man, very fun baldie representation that.

Sive Mdlalose

Personally here for the broadening of the channel’s scope to general music appreciation with a bias towards hip hop. The hip hop purists will have plenty of days in the sun, I want Solange and D’Angelo, Prince and some of the new stuff like Clairo’s album from last year. There’s entirely too much good music out there

Sive Mdlalose

do her other albums pls

Kacper P

second this!

Ellie

you keep mentioning aphex twin and i just wanna say sticky is definitely an interpolation of avril 14th

Ellie

aphex twin sample on sticky

Pedro Henrique

I wouldn't call this pop music, even her previous work, is mostly electronic, which by the way you should listen to it too! :)

ufo

keep doing what you wanna do big dawg

Such a nice surprise that you reacted to this album!! Feel like watching this made me like this album even more. Also definetly recommend checking out Magdalene at some point

Aura Puurtinen

I’d be down for some more Charli XCX at some point in the future

Of course, hip hop is the main priority, but maybe a pop review every couple weeks is worthwhile if only because there just is so much good music to hear. Loads of great pop albums every year, but if i suggested two from the past 10 years: Jessie Ware - What's Your Pleasure (2020, nu-disco) and Carly Rae Jepsen - EMOTION (2015, electropop). Both take on 80s sounds in different but amazing ways. Also, have you thought about watching the music videos after the album? I'm sure it doesn't spoil the listening experience to watch them first, but saving them until after might give a first impression closer to what the artist intended. Songs like Image on ID definitely sound better in context. Most of all, you wouldn't need to try to digest both lyrics and visuals at the same time

Justin

when i saw you talking about wanting to review some twigs in the imgainal disk review i was praying you would do EUSEXUA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
