i listen to a lot of hyperpop so this album wasn't maybe the most unique to me compared to how most people reacted although obviously it was good. Seeing how much you enjoyed it (and my girlfriend also loved it - she recommended it to me originally) gives me a lot of context to why it is such a great album in the space it lives in.

Hoping for J. Cole reaction today. Fingers crossed

a bit random, but if you could put up a reaction to the Fugees album the Score since you've already listened to Lauryn Hill and her album, that is if you haven't already listened to it in your off time. It's a really good album too.

Raitis Stafeckis

Hey Bob, relatively new patron because i NEEDED to know how you felt about 3001: A Laced Odyssy, 1999, Acid Rap, and MF DOOM! I know you almost exclusively look at albums on here, but i REALLY think you'd get a kick out of Doechii's Tiny Desk performance! Its such an amazing Jazz/Rock/Gospel/HipHop fusion and its genuinely brilliant! Not to mention its easily the most THEATRICAL rap performance ive seen in YEARS, its a really fun watch and could make for a cool shorter episode (its only about 30 mins)

Zac.M

First time ever joining the patreon just for this masterpiece of an album

Jasmine Tea Enjoyer

a new sound reaction would be insane

val_plus_seven

The world building and aesthetic on this is so crystal clear and undeniable that it hardly matters what theyre actually saying with the album, futuristic, extraterrestrial even, yet with a nostalgic feel somehow. you cant help but get immersed in it anyway. best produced album of the year in any genre and Micah's vocals are perfect for it

Nolan Short

i just listened to scrapyard today and it is in my top 3 as well!! imaginal disk is my number 1 for the year personally!

Riley

in my top 3 of 2024. alongside the new sound - geordie greep and scrapyard- quadeca

Zarco

if you’re branching out from just hop hop i highly recommend The New Sound by Geordie Greep. was one of my favorites last year along with imaginal disk

So this is an album I bought on CD a week after it came out, and I put it in my car, and it hasn't come out. I've probably heard it like 30-40 times now. I STILL don't know half the story or what's going on in the album but I don't mind. Either way, definitely my AOTY for 24. Every track could be my favorite track. Easiest 10/10 album for me if I go by Bob's criteria.

The Gr8 Scott

On one hand yeah it's odd to do the videos first because those are usually the singles and 'biggest' tracks so it spoils a few things a bit in some sense. On the other hand, it's a different format than most people do and I kindof dig it because it's just a good time.

The Gr8 Scott

i agree

skyewaka

I'll make a bold prediction that on future listens you'll get a lot more out of those first few songs because you aren't forcing yourself to try to build a cohesive story from the lyrics. You gave up on trying to do that somewhere halfway through the album here and that's when the music really clicked for you, and I think that's going to happen with the first few tracks as well.

Joonas Puuppo

I was thinking the same. If it actually gets more people to pay for the Patreon then by all means keep doing it, but if it doesn't really make a difference then I don't know if it's worth it.

Joonas Puuppo

this is one my fav albums of last year, i was lucky enough to see it live and it was such an amazing experience

Aryeh Lebowitz

He gotta listen to yves tumor now

Abe

Agreed

VeganMilk

He reacted to Baduizm a while back

VeganMilk

my aoty for 24

sebastian

I think you'd be into the Boy Genius album from 2023, if you haven't heard it, based on you liking Phoebe Bridgers. It's her band with two other women

Alex VonBerg

it is very funny hearing you talk about how similar Love is Everywhere to running out of time, Magdalena Bay actually produced that Yatchy song

Mike Muzzi

Not sure I love the idea of watching the videos first. Kinda kills the surprise of hearing a track like Death & Romance (a pop masterpiece IMO) in the context of the album for the first time. But if you prefer it all good!

Colby Kultgen

this is my superbowl

Keegan

One day I will get my Erykah badu

Brady Gibson

Let's go

Colby Kultgen

Easily AOTY. Just like Kevin said in the turning the tables reaction, I knew you’d love this!

graynotyellow

Magdalena bay produced the yachty song you were thinking of. Iirc love is everywhere was made first and they reused the baseline for yachty

Jack MacArthur

fuck yea
