Audio Glitches on Kaye's Tracks
Added 2025-06-27 16:24:16 +0000 UTCHey folks, for a little bit now people have been bringing some audio glitches to my attention. The problem is that my voice will cut out sometimes in the middle of words. I don't catch these because nothing happens during recordings, and it happens so irregularly that the glitches don't come up in our spot checks or during the edits.
I've been trying to solve this problem, thinking it was an issue with my noise gates, the processing our call recorder does to master the sound, or even how the call recorder captures my audio. It turns out it's some kind of issue with my computer itself and how audio is processed during recording, before it's sent to either my local backup recording on Logic, and before it's sent through the call recorder in my browser.
I'm writing this to let you know that I'm aware of the issue and I apologize if it's interfered with our episodes' enjoyment or legibility. Now that I've located where the issue is happening, I will be doing my best to fix it, but I ask for your patience if we can't fix it right away. Such is the nature of problems that happen irregularly and imperceptibly during multi-hour-long recording sessions.
