2023-10-21 03:20:37 +0000 UTClove that you enjoyed this project so much. it's thug's most cohesive album and the production is right in that sweet spot between accessible and experimental. he's got a ton of space to work with in most of these beats and he tends to go in unexpected directions with his flows — and they always somehow work! since the moment i heard the line "i like fish and water / i'm a bear" i haven't been able to jar it loose from my mind. it's not just a goofy non-sequitur, it's a legit bar! one thing that folks rarely seem to note about thug is how insanely in the pocket he is with his rapping on this album and the other projects around this time. it's truly singular stuff
