How much I gotta pay you to be able to watch you react to Gunna while I’m working 🤧

BHR TV

He definitely missed BIG TIME on chop suey….almost felt like he was waiting to jump on but just never did

Richard Simpson

It'll be interesting to see how LIR3 turns out now that it's been announced

Bob_the_Poppop

Luv is Rage 2 gets a lot of suggestions, so I'll get to that one someday

Bob_the_Poppop

Start with Watch My Back. Or Freewave 3.

VeganMilk

If you liked the high energy stuff on here, you might want to check out Cochise's new EP. It's under 20 minutes and most of it's in that style.

Yuh Oi

Still haven’t heard this album because YouTube music only uploaded the censored version and I’m not about that. This gonna be my first listen

CRASH

Honestly if one if your favorite songs was x2 (produced by ken carson) u should honestly just check out ken carson , or even better all of 0pium ! (Destroy lonely as well)

Carti Yeat

We need the new lucki album

isaac wells

Part of the reason it's not cohesive is because it's essentially a commercial mixtape hence the name "The Pink Tape"

EEF

crucial that he listens to ken carson/destroy lonely

john weigand

As a Uzi fan who has liked all their previous albums a lot this is definitely the weakest in their discography. I feel like these days a lot of artists put out every song they have thinking some ppl will like one song others will like another but it’s near impossible for one person to like them all. If you want to listen to more Uzi you should do Lil Uzi Vert vs The World, it’s 9 songs and only 33 mins so a lot less filler. LIR2 would probably be a popular request as well since it has a lot of hits

cameron mackinnon

Bob saying he didn’t know fake butts existed let’s me know just how much rap he still hasn’t listened to, it’s such a huge part of the game for the last 15 years or so lol

“Fire Alarm” is basically just the song “Stress” by Justice from their debut album, they’re a French production duo that makes great music and (impressively) great live albums too. I actually think you’d really like a lot of their stuff based on what I know about your interest in electronic/rock/etc that they mix in (they’re not considered hip hop, so I can even recommend them to you without having to add anything to your reaction list!). It was cool to hear Uzi do their thing over it mixtape style, I think they executed better on that cover than on Chop Suey, but it seemed like they chose songs they liked instead of ones that might suit their voice better. I had only listened to the album before watching this reaction and haven’t done much research besides what I’ve seen in passing, but it felt like a mixtape from a superstar who has recently gone through rehab and is now finding their new place in a world that still expects to turn the fuck up to their music. I did watch their new interview with Nardwuar before listening to the album, so that helped contextualize it too. I’ve liked some of Uzi’s past stuff but would hesitate to say I’m a big fan, but I really hope they get a chance to turn this new page in a positive way, they strike me as someone who could make something as big as (their version of) Let’s Start Here with the right people around them. P.S. Thanks for making an effort to use their preferred pronouns, it’s easy to forget because of how language is engrained in us so early (I had to go back and change several times in this above message), I’ve found most people appreciate the effort. We know you’re open minded, that’s why the channel is here and thriving. 💙

In terms of pure energy I think Just Wanna Rock is the best example of that on the record, when that second hook comes in i can't help but go nuts every time

Ryan Borthwick

if you like the x2 beat you would love ken carson lmao

Jay

Also: Just Wanna Rock is an homage to a style of electronic music called Jersey Club music from the early 2000s. The genre has been having a bit of a resurgence in the past few years and Just Wanna Rock is one of the biggest songs to come out of it recently.

VeganMilk

This your only review I’ve ever disagreed with. It’s just for fun. End of story

OnlineFor3ver

What you said in the end about uzi having good production/vocals but missing out in terms of album creating was absolutely spot on. He is much more talented than Carti and has some really high moments on certain tracks but there’s a reason Carti was recommended to you first and that’s cause Carti can actually apply himself effectively in his albums. Uzi is just too all over the place and symbolizes lost potential for me.

DonkeySkin334

In my opinion the filler songs are That Fiya, Spin Again and Died and Came Back. Everything else felt like it had some sort of unique difference compared to the rest of the songs

Lil Vertical

exactly this

Lillo Lillo

You have to see just wanna rock dance videos and or performed live

Brady Gibson

Also, I understand why your focus is the lyrics during a sit down focused reaction, but as you know the lyrics are the least focused part of Uzis music. Nobody listens to Uzi for lyrics.

Lil Vertical

Not an album

Lil Vertical

The thing everybody gets wrong about this is it’s a MIXTAPE. It’s not a conceptual or concise ALBUM, it’s literally called the pink TAPE. It’s a collection of songs with variety that has something for everybody. He even says in the first line of Shardai “this that Uzi mixtape”. It’s random for a reason, it’s 26 songs for a reason. There’s little to no possibility that anybody will be able to listen to this without taking away something they like, that’s the point of it.

Lil Vertical

personally, i like the change in pace. of course it's nice when he reacts to super well-crafted, universally acclaimed albums, but imo it's cool to see him digest something at the same time as everybody who listened to it upon release.

Bear

I agreed with pretty much all of your criticisms.

Josh

This album sucked shoulda started with his old albums

isaac wells

You mentioned you kinda liked the spacey parts of the album, Uzi’s last album Eternal Atake which came out in 2020 has this theme that he got abducted and is in space so a good amount of those songs have that sort of feel, but that’s been his kind of style since 2015, I think that’s why people went crazy about the metal portions, also considering Uzi’s been a top 5 most popular rapper since 2017 and we haven’t got an album from him in over 3 years. A few other things to mention is that Uzi’s on Juggernaut off of CMIYGL and Shoota off of Die Lit. Uzi and Carti used to be best friends and had a few songs with each other, nearly all of them became classics, but Shoota was the last time they’ve made a song together, and Uzi has hinted multiple times that there was gonna be a collab tape/album with Carti, but that’s never been released. If you ever wanna react to Uzi more I would recommend singles, Uzi’s not really known for making amazing albums, but Luv is Rage 2 is in my opinion Uzi’s best album and most consistent, lots and lots of huge songs on there, lots of bangers, and a lot to vibe with too. I actually think Luv is Rage 2 is worthy of a reaction, so many great songs on there that I think you’d enjoy, and it’s not all over the place like this album lol, it’s an easy and fun listen. Eternal Atake is also a pretty good album, but the delexe is literally 2 albums (around 35+ songs) it’s all leaks and snippets that their fans wanted released, which is pretty much what the bonus tracks on Pink Tape were. Also somewhat on topic, Utopia by Travis looks to release on the 21st, you know he makes quality, and he’s even said that Utopia will not have a lot of songs (20+ songs), so don’t let this run of recent releases having a lot of songs make you not want to do Utopia, shouldn’t be anymore than his past albums (15-17 songs).

Kannon

One of my favorite releases of the year, despite the middle of the album being filler

Matt C

Def one of uzis weakest albums only better than eternal atake (non deluxe) imo. It has a good amount of songs I’ll revisit

Mr. Bigweld

Yea “aye” feels like a refrain/hook with with no verses like Travis doesn’t really pick up the energy much for me and I wish I uzi just did the aye ya part once w a verse after or sumn

Omgtheykilledkenny

Luv is rage 1 and 2 as well as luv vs the world (which is only half an hour btw) are much stronger uzi projects imo. pink tape has its moment but its all over the place for me

Litty Again

deffo the reason u need to wait a few weeks for hype to die down, apart from the kendricks the tylers etc all albums get ovehyped insanly and you end up with people saying pink tape is aoty and 'needs' a reaction. this is a fun and intresting listen but on the weaker sides of albums dropped this year. Obviously its ur channel and ur own intrests but idk how this is more intresting to you or viewers rather then a santan dave , saba , westside gunn , joey badass or EVEN uzis luv is rage which is far more intresting and consistent.

James Nash

Also I think it’s funny that you did the Pink Tape today and you’re doing the Purple Tape next Friday.

VeganMilk

Wasn’t a fan of this project when it released. There were so many good albums this year and this one wasn’t it. That Chop Suey cover was particularly horrible. For me there were no real stand out songs and even if you trim all the fat you’re still left with something that’s just ok. But I don’t want to be a hater, ill watch this reaction with an open mind and maybe ill appreciate it more

Mohammad Moeladawilah

This is probably the biggest album you’ll react to this year. I’ve been a fan of Uzi since he got big around 2015/2016 and I was a fan of this album for the most part. I’m not a fan of this new trend of every album has to be 90 minutes 30 tracks. I feel like no one cares about album sequencing anymore and that’s not good imo because then the concept of an “album” is dead, everything’s just a collection of songs. Which I don’t really like. It gives artists more of an excuse to cram in a bunch of half-assed tracks hoping that a few of them will blow up on TikTok. I’m expecting a lot of major releases to be like this from now on, SZA’s SOS comes to mind. Another thing I’m not a fan of is how you can tell which songs are new and which ones were made 5 years ago. I believe Flooded the Face and Pluto to Mars were meant to be on his 2017 album, so if you like those you might want to check out his older stuff. This seems to a problem with artists like Carti and Travis Scott, who take a lot of time between album drops, old songs end up on new projects mixed in with newer songs, which makes them sound disjointed imo. As far as future Uzi reactions, I think you should focus on some singles. Uzi has a couple singles that are literally some of the biggest rap songs ever. Definitely work those into a singles stream if you can. As for projects, I think you should go for a shorter one since too much Uzi seems to tire you quickly. “LUV vs. The World” from 2016 is a great 9 tracks 34 minutes with some classic singles. He dropped “Red & White EP” last year to build hype for Pink Tape, 28 minutes and some of his best stuff imo. Luv is Rage 2 is seen as his most “classic” project by most people, but mainly because of the singles I think. His longer albums have amazing singles but are not very consistent imo.

VeganMilk

This should be interesting lol

Mr. Bigweld

Thank you!!!
