I think the meaning of the Moonlight music video isn’t about saying that friends is bad show. I think it’s saying that people of color are capable of making their own art and should focus on that instead of being remaking things that have already been done.

i agree with shalom! the lemonade visuals are absolutely ethereal. you & the wife need to check that out if times allows it! love the content so far:)

You should react to Beyoncé’s lemonade full album visuals (film)

yoo bob, will you do metro's spider album next?

max flax

I'll definitely do the black album

Bob_the_Poppop

I'd like to do the Lemonade film, but I'm hesitant since it's so long. I might just watch it on my own

Great video

I always knew deep down Bob was a Dutchie, greetings from Amsterdam

What I thought was interesting was that 2 weeks in a row Nina Simone’s feeling good was referenced. At the start of the 4:44 music video and the chorus of soft landing. “Birds flying high you know how I feel.” Funny coincidence.

Hey bob, i would definitely recommend listening to The Black Album and in specific focusing on songs like December 4th where he kind of lays the groundwork for an album like this way back, jay-z definitely has alot of songs like Anything, this cant be life, where have you been, lost one where he's more vulnerable but he himself talks about how it took him alot longer to open up cause hes not kanye he grew up completely different and by the time his solo career started he was already a 27 year old adult who already lived many lives

You can also point to the fact that a show called “living single” was released year prior to friends and many people point out that friends copied that show.

Never seen all of these this was amaxing

The dude on the acoustic guitar was the ever phenomenal Reverend Al Green, another monumental soul music musician alongside some of the people I mentioned in another comment earlier about the many shadows this album intentionally sits under.

The Lemonade Visual Album is really just as good as these videos actually, maybe even better actually

Seeing this makes me want to see you react to the visual album of Lemonade, I feel like it adds a lot to the album. Also Everything Is Love by The Carters puts a nice bow on the story throughout these two albums

I don't know if Bob knows it as he didn't mention it but the audio at the end of the Moonlight video was from when the movie Moonlight about a black gay kid won the Oscar for Best Picture but there was a mixup and the award was given to La La Land (a very white musical). The mistake was realized during the acceptance speech and the people who worked on Moonlight were then brought up to receive the award. "Even when we win, we gon' lose"

Samu Tolvanen

Marcy Me is my favorite video of the bunch I think. Directed by the Safdie Brothers - Uncut Gems and Good Time directors

This isn’t so much a Jay Z album so much as it is a Shawn Carter album in my opinion . Also I highly recommend almost every album they sampled from here. Donny Hathaway’s Extensions Of A Man (or really the song Someday We’ll All Be Free), Nina Simone’s Wild Is The Wind, Stevie Wonder’s Songs In The Key Of Life (though this one I’m kind of…it’s too long idk why people recommend it as a first Stevie album, it’s culminative of his best era but it’s not as concise an artistic vision , Talking Book and Innervisions are much more succinct, SITKOL is still phenomenal but yea)
