Bob, please we need KOD reaction now more than ever.

Skippy

You promised us J Cole fans we wouldn’t have to wait as long for another reaction. Here we are 5 months later 😭…. Only teasing. Please keep us in your thoughts though 🙏🏽

Aaron Naraine

We need a KOD reaction, lots of people will tell you to skip it because it went against the trends at the time and was generally quite negatively received. However, I believe looking back at it and with a fresh mind like yourself you will truly love the album as it speaks on many different aspects of not only the current rap scene but society as a whole

Aiden Cleary

yeah, It Was Written is on the horizon

Bob_the_Poppop

it's a very powerful way to conclude the album

Bob_the_Poppop

yeah, I missed a key line in that song for sure

Bob_the_Poppop

I heard about the Afroman thing... so frustrating

Bob_the_Poppop

I agree, great album, though I can understand why not everyone is into it

Bob_the_Poppop

It really is a different perspective, and I hate saying that because so often it sounds condescending. But yeah... as life goes on, the things you care about change (no surprise there), and things hit different

Bob_the_Poppop

I've been enjoying how chill it is this weekend

Bob_the_Poppop

🍻

Bob_the_Poppop

Not yet, no, Currents get suggested a lot though

Bob_the_Poppop

haha, love it!

Bob_the_Poppop

yayy love this album and j cole <3

Didric

Born Sinner is Cole's best Studio Album

Timothy Payton

damn man that ending

Jose Garcia

Check out Ari Lennox. She’s amazing and is another dreamville member along with JID.

CRASH

And it hits every time

SlumpJones

You HAVE to do more Nas

shaun

man i’ll cry at that outro every fucking time man. my favorite song of all time. i completely loved your reaction bob, thanks for this and i hope you loved it!

sebastian

You should react to KOD and the off season

JxB -93

Amazing reaction

JxB -93

I think you would really enjoy his album kod. It's a bit more of rap focused album although it is also very conceptual. I think it showcasing the rapping skills of j cole Better then any of his other albums.

anand boss

Icl it was funny when you still thought She’s Mine Pt1 was about the daughter when the game about strong head was right there 😂

cameron mackinnon

I left a couple comments on the mp3, but now i'm finishing on the video. Surprised no one has mentioned this yet but you should watch the music video for Neighbors. He uses the footage of the actual swat team that busted into his house. Crazy stuff. Also for anyone that isn't aware, it happens more often than you'd think. Afroman is currently being sued by the police department that broke into his house for "emotional trauma, etc". Afroman also used his security footage to make songs and music videos. It's a wild country we live in

Henry

yeah those albums are a different feel. listening to those really brings me back to that era

John

Please react to the KOD album by J Cole

Aldo

i really pay $2 a month to watch a bald man cry

Psykopomp

Man I was hoping we'd get The Warm Up and Friday Night Lights before this one!! You have to go back, those two projects are generally the favorite for J. Cole's core fans. Still happy with a J. Cole reaction nonetheless!

Bob

great album, always defended it when people said it didn't live up to 2014 forest hills

Hugo Acosta

I think this is his best work. People are typically less warm to the stuff on either side of this album if they aren’t into Cole from my observations.

Sive Mdlalose

Hi Bob, I don't comment much or anything but just want to say it's really great seeing how you connect with songs like the title track and how it relates to you. I'm only 23 so the impact it has on me really isn't as great as the impact it has on you - and it's really great to hear it from another perspective. Thanks for another great video.

NaveDorrag

Great reaction, I’ve been asking for 4YEO for the longest so I’m glad u enjoyed it. The Offseason, KOD and Born Sinner r excellent listens too, looking forward to those

Kevin Lauture

bro amazing reaction. You did a greattt job at analyzing it.Few key things you missed.(there are too many details to write them all) 1.The song CHANGE is not only about the change in the mindset of james, but is also the first time you get change of the charachters and you get the story from the perspective of j cole. 2.The line' i call it poison ,you call it real 'in this song is SO important because what j cole is trying to do with this whole album is change the perspective of the younger generation and help them hop out of that cycle 3.Cole changes his voice depending on the charachter(thats why his voice on the last verse is a bit different than the others in that final song) 4.The music and the tones of his voice acompanies every time the mood, between the beauty of the simple fullfilled life and the pain, sadness and hopelesness that comes from the street life.PHENOMENAL piece of art ,phenomenal reaction.

adreas s

I played this so much when it dropped, glad you liked it

Mr. Bigweld

There’s the tears. Lol I’ve been waiting for you to hear this one. One of my personal favorites from cole, born sinner next. P.S I used to not like “Foldin Clothes” at all lmao, as I’ve gotten older I’ve learned to appreciate it.

King Capital

A great pick! Its not most people's favorite but it's one of my favorites. It was personal to him and he was able to create it in way that connects, at least to me, with things we as humans experience. Death of friends or family members, beingn caught in a cycle with only 1 or 2 options, having a limited world view that expands as you age, looking for love/care and finding it, the birth of child, and caring for a partner and wanting to provide easy for him/her. I find that extremely relatable. P.S: someone said it above but it is a common practice in the black community and large urban areas overall to have clothes adorned in rememberence of a person who has passed. Additionally painted or graffiti murals of people are also common.

Gerardo Rojas

the shirt thing is very common in black culture

brice

i knew u were gonna cry, knowing what the album writes about 🤣 have a good weekend bob!

Tacksica

I loved Born Sinner in high school, but that album has aged horribly imo

Alex VonBerg

Does anyone know if bob has ever listened to tame Impala? If not I hope he does sometime in the future I just know he’d absolutely love all their work !!

Joey

sideways bob made an appearance! amazing personal album

Daniel Gonzalez

I’m surprised this album got more suggestive than born sinner, especially since it was more commercially successful

DemBoyz 7

It’s a personal album! https://youtu.be/qVm89ZsFxio

VeganMilk

Hey bob just wanted to say I'm so glad you enjoyed folding clothes. Such an incredibly simple track with so much nuance to it. Every line hits the right theme.

Jordan Lee

Yea its a hood thing so create R.i.p shirts

james moore

4 bobs eyez only

Psykopomp

Ari Lennox is on the Dreamville label with JID that J Cole is the head of..... Yea this album doesent have alot of replay value for me. It's very specific to him and I play a couple songs off of it and the rest I never listen to. I LOVE neighbors and he actually made the camera footage of the swat team breaking in the music video for neighbors.J Coles Discog is not flawless like Kendricks but it's decent. KOD is basically a commentary on rapper/youth drug culture. And the off season is just a good rap rap album. Born sinner is hit or miss depending on who u talk too. I probably like it more then most.

John

Such a good pick!
