2hr 47min y'all. Enjoy the ride 🤘

Comments

I put my cursor over yours so it's like we're holding hands

Laurits Frederik Lehmann

it’s funny you said Designer on Pt.2 bc that’s the name of the rapper featured. Designer made that song which was called Panda and Kanye loved it and got it on his album but put his twist on it. You should listen to it in your free time. It was like the biggest song in the world at one time lol.

Kenyon Stafford

NEW JOEY BADA$$ ALBUM NEXT WEEK 🙏

C

He should do teyana, nas and pusha’s albums together instead

CRASH

Oh cool. You've inspired me to make a montage of that whole concert experience. I will share that in case anyone is interested.

Dave Danesh

Holy shit, that sounds incredible. If you end up putting it on YouTube, make sure to let us know in some way!

Athanasios Sarafis

Just watching your reaction to Low Lights (again), and I remembered the tour for this, which of course, was incredible (before he broke down and cancelled). I saw him in Vancouver. The whole set was a floating stage. Just Kanye, on this square platform, floating around the arena. I was on the floor and you could get really close to him. During Low Lights, he was literally 15 feet away (above) me, and he sat, hunched, at the end of the platform. He didn’t move or say a word. He just started at people in the audience, motionless. It makes perfect sense, because he was baring his soul. Powerful memory. Here is that moment: https://youtu.be/nGgJgGDIf9o. Anyway, I just wanted to share that memory.

Dave Danesh

please get into joey badass . Flatbush zombies, the underachievers really god stuff

Silas Specht

You said at the beginning you don’t think he’s the best producer so I’m curious who you think is thus far?

AJ

Listening to what you love about this album, i think Donda is bound to be one of your favorites as well. It’s sprawling like this one, disjointed to an unfocused inspection, but heavy-hitting and focused around an (arguably loose) theme. The one thing that I beg you, when you eventually get Donda in ~September~ please please please listen to the normal, non-deluxe version. The deluxe does have a few extra tracks that are pretty great, but the track order is comoletely screwed up. The songs are basically arranged in the order of popularity rather than in service of much of a narrative. I think of Donda and TLOP as mirrors in a lot of ways - in my opinion TLOP is a cohesive album that ends with ‘Wolves’ (or ‘Frank’s Track’ which was originally just the outro on ‘Wolves’) and then is a bunch of great bonus tracks. Donda is a bunch of great loose tracks to begin, and then is a tight, cohesive album stsrting with the track ‘24’. TLOP deals with the which/one duality but focuses 80/20 on the secular lust, where as Donda deals with the same duality but is probably 80/20 the other direction.

bpriley14

Tyler the creator did a remix with asap Rocky on the “Freestyle 4” beat called “what the fuck right now” pretty good!

Marco Garcia

YESSS ITS HIS BEST ALBUM I BEEN SAYIN

Ugo Nwigwe

I’ve been eagerly anticipating this reaction, Bob. I’m also trying to process how much time I actually spend watching reaction videos, and why (bordering on an obsession!). Ultimately, for me, it’s about experiencing art with someone else, a person or persons I trust and respect. When it’s something, like TLOP, that has lodged itself deeply in my psyche, the stakes are high! 😂 I loved your reaction. Loved! You locked in, and fully engaged. I love that you don’t subscribe to other interpretations. I’ve always loved TLOP, but it crossed a threshold recently into special territory, and you got there quicker than many of us. I also loved how you contrasted Kendrick’s and Kanye’s approaches, to essentially the same goal. I do, however, think you undervaluing MBDTF and Yeezus. If you haven’t indulged, I highly recommend the Dissect podcasts. Keep going, Bob! I appreciate you.

Dave Danesh

Maybe a good idea to do Darkest Before Dawn + Daytona. Or Daytona + It's Almost Dry.

Dylan Woods

I don't know if you'll see this but I personally think Daytona should be in a different reaction than ksg&ye just because of how different the album is from the other 2. I think it wouldn't do justice to the album especially since you are already listening to 14 tracks. Even if its still tripled up with ye&ksg I'm very much looking forward to some Push

Merking Probs

It's called The Life of Pablo because Kanye views himself as all 3 major Pablo's in history. Pablo Picasso being the artist, Kanyes music. Pablo Escobar being the Product, Kanye's clothes. And Saint Paul, a writer of the New Testament, so the religious side of Kanye.

Emmanuel

The line "Fire up, Tweaking" in Freestyle 4 basically means using drugs, then going crazy.

Emmanuel

let's goooo, my favorite album of all time! Just finished, glad you loved it!

LoreHound

Absolutely need to

Demarco

Yes please.

Dylan Woods

Jay Electra or Jay Electronica is a rapper signed under Jay Z’s label. He was supposed to be the next big thing but he took like 20 years to drop his album. You should check him out, his lyricism is out of this world. His first album or EP is one long 15 minute song called Eternal Sunshine “the pledge”. Then his second one dropped 13 years later called Written Testimony. It’s more of a collab album with Jay Z as he’s featured on all of the songs.

George

Great reaction as always. TLOP is also my favourite Kanye album and I loved your perspective on it.

Isaac Backer

I've seen a lot of praise for Ye, honestly. More for KSG, but Ye gets love too. I look forward to hearing it

Bob_the_Poppop

lol, I really was pulled in

Bob_the_Poppop

Maybe 'short list' is massive now 😭

Bob_the_Poppop

Ye/KSG/Daytona will all be on the same Friday 🤘

Bob_the_Poppop

I feel like this is his most cohesive story telling experience

Bob_the_Poppop

Saint Pablo is pretty heavy hitting... captures the feeling of isolation very well

Bob_the_Poppop

KSG gets lots of praise. Looking forward to that one

Bob_the_Poppop

Yeah, me too. I'm getting anxious for that experience.

Bob_the_Poppop

It's easy to gloss over, so much so that I wonder if I read too much into it. But with Highlights immediately following, I think the message of Low Lights is intentional

Bob_the_Poppop

July!

Bob_the_Poppop

Small chance I get to some videos, but I'm pretty busy this weekend. Maybe Tuesday night? We'll see what's going on

Bob_the_Poppop

🍻

Bob_the_Poppop

I take it as a constant state of conflict within himself. He just can't stop feeling torn between two totally different worlds.

Bob_the_Poppop

He's the complete package

Bob_the_Poppop

Gotta get to that album

Bob_the_Poppop

The cover is so easy to dismiss because of its style. I'm glad people told me to stop and consider it because I wouldn't have otherwise

Bob_the_Poppop

It's funny how it's such 'poor art' at first glance, but really... it's kinda perfect for what it is and what it's doing as well

Bob_the_Poppop

Great album

Bob_the_Poppop

😂

Bob_the_Poppop

This album has always been my favorite "modern" Ye album (tied with Late Registration for favorite Ye album period) and I still remember hearing it for the first time and not quite getting it (I listened to it when it released and I was in middle school, so a lot of its meaning flew over my head), but then re-listening sometime during high school and being blown away, absolutely loving it. Watching you listen to the album and share your thoughts on it is the closest I've felt to that re-listen since, so I thank you for that. The next Kanye album is of course his self-titled (kind of ?) album, Ye, and given your fanbase I'm sure there are plenty of people here who love it, but it has a lot of critics, and I personally ask that if you see some random person say "it sucks" before you listen, don't give it too much weight, I hold a very personal connection to the album which I won't get into right now, and this connection of course makes me a little biased, but I personally think for what it is, it's a beautiful, concise, emotional look into Kanye's psyche during one of his most controversial points in his career, and I personally love it. I know I spent a lot of this comment just talking about 'Ye' but like I said I absolutely adore TLOP and I think you did a remarkable job picking it apart upon first listen, I think it'll only grow on you after repeated listens, as is always the case with Kanye projects. Keep up the good work Bobby 👍

Lil Mac

I was really hoping you wouldn’t pause over CB's god level vocals in Waves😭 “No lieeeeeeeaaiieaaiahaahaeaieaaiiieeee”. But I get it because you were so deeply engrossed in it LMAO

TCB

Haven't watched the video yet, but I'm very excited to see Bob's reaction to the bleach line :P

Athanasios Sarafis

You should listen to ''All Day - Kanye West'' its a leftover from the album dropped as a single. Better then most songs on the album IMO.

svideos

Kanye West - Only One reaction please, it's the right time now :)

Louie Henry

Sampha featured on ''Saint Pablo'' is the same artist that was featured on ''Father Time - Kendrick Lamar;;

svideos

Bob you should react to I Feel Like That, it's a loosie that was never included on The Life of Pablo and was coupled in a music video with All Day on the lead up to the album, I Feel Like That is the most Kanye ever talked about his mental struggles

Christopher Bloom

Sooooo uuuummmmm maybe chance the rapper gets on the shortlist now?

CRASH

What a great reaction! I've slowly started appreciating this album more and more with more listens but the sound was so different it was offputting at first and I instantly just decided "this is bad" but it has definitely aged like fine wine. Thats being said, I'm so excited for you to do ye, but I do recommend you do Ye and Kids See Ghosts back to back because they are both essentially 2 halves of the same whole and both only being 7 tracks a piece make it a solid 14 track project. Anyways my rant is over.. Great video as always!

Christopher Horton

I've listened to this album for years, grown up with it really, but your reaction is making me think much deeper about it and love it even more. You're spot on when you say that Kanye has said the stage perfectly for this album. And it really delivers on that stage in a way that is very specific but ultimately so good.

Will Pease

Awesome video. Thanks Bob.

Ryan

The Street Fighter sounds are probably left over from the lost TurboGrafx16 era..or maybe it was approaching. Either way, it's one of the scrapped Kanye albums that have leaked. The whole album is built around video game sounds.

FuzzyDunlop

“T.Y. Dollar Sign” 😂

Zay G

I always cry during Saint Pablo. Here’s one of the most confident human beings on planet earth. Admitting he’s not perfect and the world just punching down on him. The media really did try to end him during this time. Whether it was the Trump meeting, Famous Music Video, Slavery comments, Bill Cosby line, the start of his bipolar episodes. He’s turning 45 in a couple of days. I honestly pray he finds what he’s truly looking for because if any artist deserves happiness it’s him.

Miguel Perez

‪Dude, I’m at the part where you’re talking about Lowlights and I just want to say you’re literally a genius. Your analysis of the entire album has been the best I’ve seen and it’s not even close. ‬

Zay G

I can’t wait til you do Kids See Ghosts. Unpopular opinion but it’s my favorite Kanye album. And I think you’ll like the concept behind it a lot. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s your favorite Kanye project either

Demarco

That’s so cool that this is your favorite Kanye album off first listen. Didn’t expect that

Demarco

While I wouldn’t say by far, I do agree it’s his best work, right there next to the college dropout.

Ben

i can’t wait for u to get into KA

jakob

I really Love this Album. I Like how Kanye can put all these artists in his songs almost using Them Like Instruments, implementing them really Well. IT also came Out at a great time in my Life, good memories. It has been a great music Journey Bob, congrats to the anniversary!!

daredevil777

Love this album! Sad to say I’m a serial Low Lights skipper but you made me listen with new ears today. As always, great perspective and reaction.

Dono

Can’t wait for you to do Kids See Ghosts (my all time fav album)

Cullen Hendricks

Fantastic video, loved all the commentary. Would be great to see a reaction here to the music videos for Famous, Wolves and Fade.

Samu Tolvanen

This is my favorite reaction of yours to date. I love the insight after those tracks. Super great stuff.

Aiden Woodworth

Great reaction... I've listened to this album for many years but watching this made me realize the stark duality of faith/lifestyle or personal problems/lifestyle. I always thought that in Pt.2 it was just nonsense how it comes off him detailing his personal life and trauma into the feature rapping about cars/money etc., but I now think it's a more purposeful choice on Kanye's part. Like how he splices gospel between talks of a model etc on the previous track, too. Almost as if he is finding the rapper lifestyle too enticing to confront his personal problems or become as religious as he wants to be.

Layne Simpson

In my opinion I agree Kanye may not be the best lyricist or rapper, but I believe overall as an artist he stands above the rest.

Merking Probs

He's gonna cry, and then rightfully declare it the greatest song Kanye ever made.

HELLCAT

He's doing Daytona, ye, and Kids See Ghosts in one reaction.

HELLCAT

after watching this, it might be my my fav now. i still think that Donda is incredible and Dark Fantasy is undebatable, 808s is just so groundbreaking, CD best opener ever, LR of the best albums ever, Graduation top5 mainstream hip hop album.. and JIK and Ye most personal, which some appreciate the most. :) . like me. and Donda 2. im considering this album as most experimental as hes still struggling so he searching for his sound and the whole Donda experience is absolutely incredible and definitely artistically his best work. Oh and Yeezus is actually my favorite album. I have ordered two albums in my life, one is Yeezus and one is Watch the Throne. Yeezus album is on my shelf and I have total of 4 things on my shelf lol.

Louie Henry

:)

Bob_the_Poppop

Did you really try to explain "I Love Kanye" as a deeper meaning hahaha good one bob

Remy

I'm not sure how you are going to approach Kanyes next albums in the future but I really want you to react to Ye. I feel as though its his most introspective album (probably hinted at by the album title being just his name) I know it doesn't get as much praise, maybe because that album doesn't have any bangers really. But its super interesting and feels like a logical coming through of where he was with Yeezus and Life of Pablo. Its also a super short album only 24 minutes so I would suggest you also do Kids see ghosts which also has the same runtime. They were released one week apart I believe and have similar themes so I think they compliment each other well. KSG is more lavish in its production which gave it more universal acclaim. But both great albums imo. Kanye don't miss (well maybe Jesus is King but lets not get into that)

Mohammad Moeladawilah

I tried to type this from memory in my comment below, but you found the actual quote. Thanks

Louis Herrera

Don't forget the Wolves mv too

Louis Herrera

I'm so happy that you were able to truly understand and appreciate what Ye was going for on this one. I hope you'll react to the Famous music video as well; definitely a lot to chew on. Also, there are 3 Pablos: Pablo Picasso, the greatest artist, Pablo Escobar, the greatest salesman/mover of product, and St. Paul the Apostle, the greatest messenger chosen by God.

Louis Herrera

FYI Havoc (produced the drums on Famous & Real Friends) is from Mobb Deep. Little teaser of his hard hitting boom bap drums that you will hear on The Infamous =)

snooza

Seriously, talk about aged like milk. Sunday Candy is still a bop though. Can't believe he went from that to Chance 3 lmao.

Brett Weston

Some people never understood the album art. Glad you caught it before even listening to a single second of music. This gon be a good reaction.

CRASH

This one and College dropout are tied as my favorite Kanye album.

Lex

CANT WAIT TO WATCH THIS TN IVE BEEN WAITING SINCE I WATCHED YOUR FIRST KANYE REACTION

Lex

seeing his reaction to Low Lights, he's gonna shit himself to Ghost Town mark my words

jules

Kanye once explained that Pablo Picasso, Pablo Escobar and Saint Paul/Saint Pablo are the 3 Pablos that represent this album.- "Which Pablo? Pablo Picasso, Pablo Escobar of course, Apostle Paul. [Paul] inspired and was the strongest influencer of Christianity. Pablo Escobar was the biggest mover of product, and Pablo Picasso was the biggest mover of art. And that mix between message, art, and product is The Life Of Pablo. "

Bobby porter

“I met Kanye West, I’m never going to fail” is one of the worst aging rap lyrics consider what happened with The Big Day lmao

McSwagburgerXL

I'm with you, I genuinely wish I liked this album as much as some people do, but I just can't no matter how hard I try. This was the album that started Kanye's downfall for me, but I'm glad others are able to get so much enjoyment out of it at least.

Cory

I didn't mean to call you baby. Lol

Aaron Seidnernin

I'm back baby. Sorry for the absence.

Aaron Seidnernin

Honestly never liked this album. Hoping this helps change my mind I’ll give it another chance

Lance Boldman

I remember there being a lot of debate about the album cover when it came out, it was being discussed by art professors at prestigious schools and such, I thought it was cool that Kanye got that discussion happening
