Hey Bob, any chance you can reupload this? looks like it got removed

Haha I've also played hours of mario kart to this album, probably 15-20 years later than you did but all the same :D I think pretty much any oldschool hiphop head got love for Cypress Hill, they were super unique both with the beats and B-reals high pitch voice, and they are just so chill hangout music. But there was just so much changes in hiphop at the time and the more 'serious', either gangster rap or polticially conscious hiphop became more of the norm (and soo many groups and artists that came in the following years are simply superior to them) . But everybody I know like and 'respect' Cypress Hill for what they were. I'm late to the patreon, really hope you get around to listen to Wu Tang soon

I just about pooped my pants when the base line for 'Hits From the Bong' dropped in lol

I watched a couple interviews with B-Real after doing this video, and I was happy to hear that the content of the songs was about real events (so no just BS) AND that he chose to keep some of those details out on purpose. The latino thing is just odd, but there are a lot of odd things in the world that I don't understand.

Bob_the_Poppop

I was noticing that as well, just a little repetitive. Fun to listen to, but not as deep as the other albums I've heard.

Bob_the_Poppop

They're well respected and they made some classics but they're not what I'd recommend to most people trying to dive into hip hop for the first time. Still pretty great though, and its kind of funny to me that you were this familiar with the album

Henry

You keep asking why no requests for them. And to put it simply, they are a good group with some really good albums. But in comparison to their contemporaries... I mean just listen to Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). It came out the same year and just... wow. I also find them a tad repetitive at times, even if I like the music.

Vervanta

Another classic, it has its fair share of acclaim as well. Great album

B-Real did indeed get shot in the lung by a .22.. Cypress Hill is also conciously decided not to be to specific with their gangs ties and shit like that because they felt it would hinder their musical success but they are well connected and respected in the Streets but as far as their celebrity theyre seen in a light similar to snoop dogg also their fanbase is almost exclusively white and latino for whatever reason.

Paul Salvador Estrada

A classic for sure. Cypress hill was kind of on th r outskirts of hip hop at the time. They had such a unique sound that theyve always been respected but i feel like their fans are the most liberal of rap and rock fans. Kinda in the same vane as Rage against the machine.

Let’s goooo
