Since time got away from me, I’m having a binge watch. To add a bit of trivia, according to James Marsters, he burnt his hand quite badly while filming the scene where Spike is struck by sunlight while passed out drunk. But rather than go to the on-set medic, he pretended everything was fine and went to a hospital directly after the shooting wrapped.

2024-06-15 17:46:04 +0000 UTCI can no longer remember what stretched credulity. LOL The band and Joss were both unhappy thst the tempo sped up on the original when it wasn't supposed to. So, the new version us the "correct" version. Which is better is up to the individual. It's definitely different from most theme songs. Hopefully, the construction on the house I live in will begin and end soon so I can access my VCR and upload S4&5 (actually a 100th episode celebration) and Angel 1&2.

2024-05-17 17:10:26 +0000 UTCNo it hasn't always been 1600. At the time of the show it was 1600. In 2006 it switched to a 2400 pt system, and then back to 1600 in 2016. I took them in 2005 when it was still a 1600 pt system, but graduated in 2006. It was a lot of converting my scores for colleges. On the 1600 scale, I got a 1480.

Buff using the wrong words and still getting a higher score than you is pretty funny. Great example of shows just telling us the characters are smarter and more capable than they know how to show. Oh, so the song actually IS sped up? Fair enough, it did sound a little bit faster. Sure, faith is supposed to be her replacement, but it didn't work out that way. As far as I'm concerned, they're either both on the hook, or they're both not. True. I think it's particularly rough for Cordy in this case. Lol, that makes sense, she probably would blast Talyor. 2024-05-07 02:24:38 +0000 UTCI am no help with the SAT info because I took the ACT. It is the test more commonly taken in my area and almost all universities/colleges accept both tests. It is also scored differently - score range is 1-36. ACT has a science section and broader math section. ACT has an optional additional essay section. I very vaguely remember that SAT had something similar for a short time, but stopped a few years ago. I could be wrong about this though because I never paid that much attention to the news clips about them. I can't remember my composite ACT score from nearly 20 years ago, but all schools I have applied for have accepted me so it has never been an issue for me. However, a number of universities and colleges no longer require either test for admission.

Other than I think 2016-2021, the SATS are two parts, English and Math with a total of 800 in each. I got a 1210. I think it was a 590 and a 620. I can't remember which was which, but lean towards 590 math. Based on people in my class, and for some reason, I was largely in honors level classes. I had good numbers. So when Buffy, who far too often uses the wrong words in place of not exactly uncommon terms, got a 1430, I was not happy. I will write more if I can get Patreon to work on the damn TV. Trying again. The 7th? Nope. I'll have to watch on the phone. The comments have reminded me of what this episode is. At some point Nerf Herder re-recorded the theme song as initially the tempo was off and sped up. Faith is actually supposed to be her replacement. But because Buffy is supposed to be dead. Basically, Buffy is a bonus slayer. I think that it is messed up that the person who has to pay the most for Xander/Willow is Cordelia. I'm not a Taylor Swift fan, but if she was about a decade or so earlier, Cordy would end up blasting that "We are never, ever, ever getting back together" song. Of the two, I blame Xander more as Willow was constantly trying to find a way out. Xander would too often instigate contact or verbal flirting. She also had a decade of pent up longing. He's been into her for about a month. Spike and Joyce is always fun. Do links work in these comments?

2024-05-05 16:47:12 +0000 UTCWe have a similar but different kind of standardised testing. Upon finishing high school we take up to four tests. Three (Ukrainian language, math and history) is a requirement, but you can take four. Ukrainian literature, English/German/Spanish/French language, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, and Physics are the subjects to choose from. The fourth is usually whichever one works best for your uni (college) application. For example, I was applying for translation/journalism/editing and publishing/English language and lit possible majors (it works differently, I can share how in a separate message as this one's already going to be long). It was also a bit different when I took mine 11 years ago - Ukrainian language and literature were combined and it was the only requirement. I chose English, history and world lit as the other three - Maria

2024-05-05 09:20:25 +0000 UTCSam has mentioned before that he left school early but he's in Sydney so their system is unique to the Aus state of New South Wales, however the nationwide university entrance score is called ATAR - Australian Tertiary Admittance Rank. It's not its own test, it's like a conversion of our grades during our final year or two of secondary I think. No idea what the school system was like in Ukraine for Maria.

Cordy was literally growing as a person and did so much to meet Xander halfway (notice she's no longer hanging with her mean girl friends either) and Oz was always an A+ boyfriend to Willow and they both got hurt and honestly Willow and Xander deserve to be shut out for a while because they fucked up repeatedly and really badly and consequences are important.

2024-05-05 09:03:33 +0000 UTCAnd like, I believe the point of the SATs is that it's the same standardized test across high schools in America so when you apply to college you submit what you got in your SATs which measures up against others as a level playing field, compared to being your class' valedectorian or grades, which can vary depending on your school.

2024-05-05 08:17:28 +0000 UTCYeah, I think the score has always been 1600 total (IIRC it's 800 each for math/logic and verbal/language). Buffy has 1430 out of 1600 which is pretty decent. Willow complains that she got a 740/800 on the verbal and Xander complains that her verbal only score is a bit like his overall score out of 1600 hence village idiot.

Edit: so I finished the ep and Spike is hilarious 😂 I love his shenanigans and his love “monologue”. I feel so heartbroken for oz and cordy, definitely not my favorite part of the ep lol Poor Buffy getting talk jumped every chance they get about college, like I know y’all excited! But staaahhhppp she gotta breathe for a few days lol Yo cordy got traumatized that her bf was kidnapped, witnessed herself get cheated on and got impaled by rebar — what a day 😂
