Had a tough time painting this horse. I found it really challenging to keep up a good standard with many of the details being so similar. In this video I discuss strategy in grinding out a competition model. Let me know if you resonate with some of the things in this! I’m into the base now, and hopefully with a few tweaks to the figures it all comes together.

I live in an isolated place with no other painters who are striving for anything beyond a table top standard. I look forward to your videos not because they are tutorials but because I get to hear the thoughts of a world class painter. I'm loving your videos and hope nothing changes.

2025-03-27 22:16:18 +0000 UTCI'm exactly the same man. Have to focus on only one detail to fully 'commit' my mind to visualising what I want and realising that visualisation on the model. If I get too caught up in efficiency then the quality is noticeably worse and I just can't get over it, therefore ruining the experience of painting for me.
