November Patreon Scheduling
Added 2020-11-13 22:44:33 +0000 UTCSo originally, while I didn't commit to an actual exact schedule, I did commit to releasing 4 - 12 chapters on RR every month and double that for my Patrons. So you crazy people supporting me would get 8 - 24 chapters a month.
The thing is, you people are so crazy you have supported me beyond what I ever expected - enough that I can actually scale back working in the future. As I type, the amount pledged is getting close to $1,600 which was a goal I set... -I actually don't remember. I feel like it was 4 years ago, but I might have updated it last year? It isn't important I guess.
What is important is that I find this incredibly and insanely motivating. Like "one to two chapters a day, can't sleep because im so excited even though im a grown ass man" kind of motivating.
Some of you have noticed that I am not charging until next month though, and there is a reason for that.
This month is also NaNoWriMo on Royalroad, and I really want to participate. However, between today and the 15th when the first word count is due, I don't have enough time to write twice as many chapters for my Patrons and still make the word count for NaNo.
Currently, I am 5 chapters ahead of RR and I need to be at least 11 ahead to match the promises for my $5 and up tiers.
Tomorrow, the amount I am ahead will likely drop as I push chapters onto RR to make it in time for NaNo.
However, after that I plan to go to town on my writing. From Nov. 15th to Dec. 1st Patrons can expect one to two chapters per day until we are at least 11 ahead. I don't want anyone to have to pay me until they are getting what they are paying for.
Thank you for your understanding and support,
-Vladerag

2020-11-30 19:07:40 +0000 UTCYou can get cord protectors. My rabbit chews cords too, so this is what I use around my bedroom.

2020-11-14 23:49:02 +0000 UTCYeah You could do like one or two more chapters every week on patreon. That would slowly build a bigger and bigger buffer but keep your release rates pretty high on both.

2020-11-14 22:30:26 +0000 UTCI can’t see the chapters from today

2020-11-14 07:30:53 +0000 UTCI'm not a Patron in order to buy a product. I'm in it from gratitude and for the public-funding model - I want the internet to be full of good free things, including your writing, which I appreciate so much that it deserves some consistent income from me. Now I know that's not motivating for everyone so it makes sense to have incentives, but I don't think you need to put 50% of your chapters behind a wall nor burn out trying to do so. I'm content to read at whatever pace you write best as long as there's real effort being put in.

2020-11-14 05:15:50 +0000 UTCAwesome! Have fun writing, supporting you has definitely been a good decision! Others are saying don't burn out, but i don't think you're at risk of that rn if I'm getting the right impression of your motivation.

2020-11-14 05:12:30 +0000 UTCPlease don't burn yourself out. I have seen too many authors push too hard in the beginning, only to lose that spark of creativity. What starts as a passion soon becomes a daily slog that "must be gotten through". I love your work and I look forward to your next chapters! But I would rather have them slower than not at all.

2020-11-14 04:04:49 +0000 UTCAnd here I was keeping my patronage low to give you time to catch up. Well, if you're gonna treat all of us I guess I'll have to up it !

2020-11-14 02:45:48 +0000 UTCI'm good as long as you're writing, no need to push yourself lol.

2020-11-14 02:45:33 +0000 UTCI want to second this. I don't know what the right amount of a buffer is but keeping as high of a frequency in RR as patreon is only going to help your readership.

2020-11-14 02:34:37 +0000 UTCLightning strikes the same place twice sometimes and Loki is definitely similar, but i think these two scratch different itches. Most of Loki is focused on the MC's fight vs this particular pantheon, while Cadence has none of that pressure or angst, allowing a much more slice-of-life-y feel.

2020-11-14 02:09:25 +0000 UTCI think the twice as much on Patreon as RR is too much. Once you have a good buffer, I think it would be better to have more frequent updates on RR. More updates would hopefully bring in more readers, which hopefully means more Patreons and more chapters for me overall.

2020-11-14 01:32:34 +0000 UTCYeah letting RR catch up a bit is no problem. Don't push yourself too hard and have a good weekend

2020-11-14 00:34:36 +0000 UTC+1 to the "Please don't burnout" crowd. This story is too good to go into an early Hiatus!

2020-11-14 00:20:06 +0000 UTCWhile I'm glad for the extra chapters, don't burn yourself out!

2020-11-13 22:59:07 +0000 UTCI'll comment on something for once, I'm going to hazard that as long as you make an effort to write consistently, most of us will remain patrons while you do so. I like this story for both the individual world settings and the overall setting with Podi. If you are a story or two off from the goal of double what you released on RR, ehh just try better next month.

2020-11-13 22:52:25 +0000 UTCA lot of people can see that this story might be lightning in a bottle. So no pressure right?
