Added 2023-07-19 10:20:39 +0000 UTCSo I really enjoyed this and find her voice IMPRESSIVE as heck however I also don't think it showcased anything new from her vocals that surprised me which isn't necessarily a bad thing but possibly a miss opportunity on a platform like this.
Like she's in Aespa, of course she can sing but what else? Her being super introverted doesn't help because then she plays things more safely for sure.
A lot of reactors on my channel obsess over her in Priority but I'm yet to hear another vocal from her thats as low and smooth as she sounds on that song which I really want her to explore. There'll be surprised when they hear Aespa's music for sure lol.

Please do Jo Yuri's Mujin Service episode!!! She was a main vocalist in IZ*One alongside Chaewon! Her tone is beautiful and unique! Her influences are mostly R&B singers, her very first performance was a Beyoncé song. Funnily enough she audtioned on Produce48 with NCT Dream's Chewing Gum but then the judges asked her to sing a song by herself and she BLEW them away with a rendition of Bruno Mars' Runaway Baby. She is also well know for her amazing Jessi J Casualty of Love cover that she did during her pre-audition for the show. She has always been so talented but she just keeps getting better, and makes it her mission to give the best version of herself each time. I think you'll fall in love with her voice when you watch the episode. Her title tracks might not be your style (I think you'll like her debut Glassy the best) but her B-sides always blow everyone away. My favorite b-side of Yuri's is called Blank but Rolla Skates and Favorite Part are VERY close seconds.

2023-07-19 17:52:34 +0000 UTCNot sure if it was a good choice for her to sing many English songs here. She reminds me of IU vocally, and I still think that's where her strength lies. For example, her early cover of (IU's cover) of Secret Garden was really good. Perhaps, she was trying to stretch herself here with her choice of songs. But by doing so, she came off safe performance-wise. With all that being said, its still a very good session. I'm just giving it more scrutiny because she has such a high bar
