Patreon Exclusive Update - June 2025 + Short Bonus Nideo

Time for a dang update, with a bonus short nideo included (38 seconds long) - for paid patrons only!

Alrighty! Sorry I'm a little late - I ran into some pretty frustrating computer issues this month. I threw together a little nideo in honor of my struggles, just for you swell patrons. Check it out up above!

Sections are labeled for your convenience, and there is a tl;dr at the end that sums up all the important info.

Fesh Pince 4 Progress/Computer Fiasco:

Earlier this month, the primary drive for my computer suddenly stopped booting, leading me to a plethora of computer issues which prevented me from doing any editing for the first few weeks of June. I did manage to get everything resolved, but because of the lost time, progress on Fesh Pince 4 wasn't quite to my satisfaction. Despite all this, I did my best to compensate by spending some extra time editing once my computer was functional again. I did manage to spruce up some scenes and finish up a gag which I am really happy with. This gag in particular was almost scrapped, but I managed to find a way to squeeze it in. Now that everything is resolved, editing progress should continue as planned, barring any future stupit computer issues.

Now I'll go over what exactly happened with my computer for those who are interested. Forgive me if this section is overly long - I just want to share my experience because it was very convoluted and frustrating. I'll have a tl;dr at the end of this section if you want a brief summary.

Early in the month, I started noticing issues with my UPS. For those of you who don't know, UPS stands for "uninterruptible power supply" and it is essentially a battery backup that you plug your PC into so that if the power goes out, you can run on battery power for long enough to save whatever you're working on and shut your PC down safely. Where I live, the power will sometimes cut out briefly, so I consider a UPS to be a necessity.

Anyway, it all started when I was away from my computer in another room - I had set my computer to sleep, and when I returned to it, it was powered down, and my UPS was off. I thought maybe it was a glitch, so I powered my UPS back on, and everything seemed to be fine. A few days later, there was a full power outage, and my computer once again powered off - but this time, the UPS was making a loud sustained beep, and the display on it indicated it was a battery error. I did some research, and most people seemed to recommend new batteries over getting an entirely new UPS, so I decided to order some slick new batteries.

While waiting for them to arrive, I continued using my computer without the UPS. Everything seemed fine, until it suddenly froze up after I clicked on something in the file explorer. I was able to move my cursor, but nothing was working correctly. My taskbar disappeared, and I was unable to use "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" to access the task manager. I waited a good while, and decided my only course of action was to fully power down my PC by holding the power button. This was a mistake. My computer refused to boot back into windows, and went straight to the BIOS when I started it up. I don't know if my drive was already fucked when it started glitching out, or if the forced powering down did it, but I probably should have left it on for a few hours just to see what would happen.

I tried everything I could to get the drive to boot again - I put some Windows instillation media on a USB and tried the Windows Repair tool, attempted to reload one of my restore points (none of them were found), and I even went into the command prompt and tried several commands to manually fix the boot drive. Nothing worked. It was at this point I realized I should just buy a new drive and reinstall Windows.

Now I should specify - the drive that went bad only contained Windows and the programs I had installed on it. I use a separate drive for all my files, and I back that file drive up regularly. So Fesh Pince 4 was never in any danger. The only issue was reinstalling all my programs and meticulously trying to adjust all the settings on them. As luck would have it, the boot drive still had everything on it, despite the fact that it was no longer able to boot. I was hoping I would be able to copy over the program files that contained settings and customization to my new boot drive once I had it set up, but it refused to give me permission to access my "AppData" folder, which contained many of the settings for the various programs I use. The drive was permanently set to "Read Only" so I was unable to change the permissions to get access.

But hey, no big deal right? Just gotta get a new drive, and figure out all the program settings again. So, I order a new drive, and wait for that sucker to arrive. While I'm waiting for that, the new UPS batteries arrive. I watch some videos on how to replace the batteries, just to be sure I don't fuck anything up, then I pop open my UPS and begin trying to remove 2 screws from a bracket that held one of the batteries in place.

Now this next bit isn't important, but I HAVE to mention it because it pissed me off. One of the screws came out no problem - but the other? It wouldn't come fully loose no matter what I did. It would twist, but it wouldn't move any further out. After fucking with it for like 30 minutes, I decided that the bracket wasn't even important, so I bent it to see what the hell was going on with this other screw. Not only was there a giant glob of glue on the other side of the screw for no discernible reason, but the screw had an additional lip on the other end. What the fuck is that about? How did they even get it in there??? So I ripped the damn bracket off, put the new batteries in, and put the bracket back on with just one screw. Held in just fine that way.

I charged those new bad boy batteries for 8 hours as per the instructions, and right before bed I decided to try it out to see if it worked. NOPE. Dang thing still was giving me the battery error when the power was cut off. At this point, I just said "Fuck it." and decided to order a new UPS.

I could go on, because I encountered some other issues along the way, but I'll save you the ranting and just say that everything eventually arrived (LATE), I was able to set up the new drive and UPS, get a fresh install of Windows, reinstall all my programs and configure their settings to my liking. This whole process lasted around 2 and a half weeks. What a fucking rigmarole that was. Fuck computers, fuck UPS's and FUCK Steven Universe.

TL;DR:
-My UPS stopped working and my computer kept losing power because of it.
-I ordered new batteries for it.
-While waiting for the batteries to arrive my computer froze up and stopped booting.
-Tried to fix the drive, nothing worked.
-Ordered a new drive for my computer.
-New batteries arrived, didn't work.
-Ordered a new UPS.
-Everything came (late), I set it all up.
-Got back to work on dang old Fesh Pince 4

Reminder about the delay for FP4 in relation to future nideos:

My next nideo after FP4 won't take nearly as long to complete as FP4 is taking. It's very important for me to make sure FP4 lives up to the legacy of the previous installments, so I'm taking as much time as necessary to come up with worthy edits, and to polish the hell out of it. FP4 is also significantly longer than my usual nideos - adding to the delay. After it's complete, I'll focus on nideos that are a more reasonable length, and my upload cadence will be more reasonable.

Here's a random screenshot from FP4:

Future Plans:

Updates:
Once again - not too sure what to share for July, but I'll figure it out!

New Patreon Content for June:
-
TBD!

Future Nideo Plans (for sure happening):

-Roseanne YTP (coming up after FP4, some work is already done on it)

Just ideas, not guaranteed:
-Fesh Pince Junior (shorter mini Fesh Pince installments)
-New nideos of sources that I used in the past
-Miscellaneous new stuff that I've been fiddling around with on the side (anything could happen!)

Closing thoughts:

This month SUCKED. Computer bullshit, and I bumped my elbow in that one weird spot where it hurts really bad for like 20 seconds. Still, we made some more progress. Not as much as I had hoped, but it wasn't too shabby given the time I lost from my PC dying. Gonna slap July with some serious editing to make up for it.

Thank you swellkatroids for sticking with me, once again. Especially after a shit month like that, it means a lot to see so many of you still hanging around to support me. I'll see you fantastic fiends next month!

tl;dr:

-My PC and UPS died on me, and it took a few weeks to get everything up and running again due to a plethora of stupit things that happened along the way.

-Still managed to get some alright progress on FP4 in the time I had left.

-Reminder: Once Fesh Pince 4 is complete, I'll be uploading nideos at a more reasonable pace. FP4 is long as heck, and needs extra time in the oven to maximize smiles.

-Posted a short nideo for you swell patrons in honor of my computer issues. Check it out at the top of this post! Or click here if your finger is hurting too badly to scroll up that far.

-Future Nideo plans after FP4 remain the same - recap up above!

-Patreon content for July TBD!

Sounds like a rough month of technical malfucktionary. But at least your UPS didn’t eat all of your Breffmints

Sorry to hear about the unswell computer issues. Sounds infuriating. Glad to hear you back your work up to make it less annoying, even though it's still real frustrating. Smart having Windows on a separate drive, but irritating that some programs forcibly install some of their files to the C: drive for cases like yours (and mine about a year ago). Hope it malfunctions minimally from here on!

At least you still have your gorgeous wife and/or Judge Judy.

The computer troubles you've been describing the past few months sound infuriating, If I was you I would've probably thrown a grenade in there already. Hope the damn puter leaves you be for a while now, sorry to hear how much it's acting up. Nothing you can really do about that!

Sorry to hear about your computer messing up this month. Hope it’s all better now and that you’re doing good. I’ll be waiting patiently for 9 yeareals if that’s how long it takes for the video to come out.
