Hello! Here is V1.5 of MalO On Camera, early for patreons! As usual I include a little gif for you guys to enjoy. This is also going to be the new thumbnail for the game on itch.io :)
This is a more technical ( and serious :P ) update that does not include new gameplay elements or scenes, but reworks some of the core aspects of the game.
These changes were made because of your overwhelming feedback of the project. I value all of your inputs greatly, as it helps me improve as a game creator as well. I will continue to listen to all feedback regarding my projects and try to respond to them if I can. Thank you all! :)
These changes are to make the difficulty of the game more consistent, as before they were too random. for example, the door and window are great sources for decreasing MalO's aggressiveness, but relied too heavily on RNG, thus players sometimes went through the whole night without her getting to either, resulting in a quick game over.
night 2 - slightly harder
night 3 - unchanged
night 4 - slightly easier
night 5 - much easier
- Increased spawn rate of multiple MalO entities, giving players extra chances to de-aggro her by flashing her
- slightly increased overall leniency for losing
- decreased aggression additions when missed on cameras
- MalO has a chance to not add aggression when missed on cameras, giving players a second chance.
- Increased chances that MalO will show up in window.
- Increased chance of MalO opening the door
- Increased speed of which MalO opens the door
- Slightly increased speed of which MalO sends a picture
- Sound cues for MalO appearing on cameras are louder and less random.
- MalO lasts on cameras for a longer time, giving players more leeway
- Cameras are slightly darker by default
- Reduced bloom in the main menu because it was too much for my eyes
- Optimized color grading for more FPS
- rewritten the help menu to make it more up to date
As I stated in the V1.4 update, no new gameplay elements or scenes will be added. User feedback will be taken into consideration for optimizations and improvements, but updating the project has gotten hard due to its size and fragility. (also its a really old project :P)
