HP: Is It Wrong To Be A Sociopath In Magical World? [ Chapter 22 ]

Along with Potions, mind magic and soul magic are also considered in the grey area as well, which I think is pretty interesting.

Though depending on the uses of said magics they can be used as a type of light or dark magic but it's very situational and rare that it comes to that, and it's not like those subjects of magic are the only ones like that.

Technically magic is all about the use of it all, dark magic can be used to have an effect similar to light make and the same can be said for light magic being used to dark effects.

It seems though that light magic is just the most safe form of magic to be learned, which is why people can lose themselves to the Dark Arts easily and why it's common knowledge that Dark magic is seen as evil. Is it actually evil though?

Maybe, maybe not I'm not actually sure of that at the moment though, but it would be stupid to think I would use that small bit of doubt to start studying the darker side of the Dark Arts. A small chance of it actually not being evil is only that, a small chance.

Still, as I looked down at the ritual book, I thought about it for a moment before bending down and slid it under the bookcase.

If I ever decide that I'll need it then I know where to find it, and this also keeps other impressionable students away from finding a possibly dark book.

So with that I went back to looking around the library before stopping to read a book that I found a little interesting about the basics of non verbal magic as I still have yet to crack the code on it myself.

….

"Confundo!"

I heard the spell shouted from behind me just as I was about to enter my room. I, surprising myself to be honest with how quickly I reacted, already had my wand in hand as I turned and snapped my wand in front of me calling out in a clamier voice.

"Protego!"

The spell bounced off and splashed against the nearby wall, showing that my spell had been getting stronger.

Looking at the attacker, I was unsurpassed to see it was Draco with his wand out with his two meat shields at his side with their wands pointed towards me as well.

I just raised an eyebrow as Draco seemed surprised I had countered his spell, from the force needed behind his words to use said spell though, it was probably a recently learned one.

"Oh hello there Draco, interes-"

"Diffindo!"

I was still casting Protego but instead of just letting it hit my shield Charm, instead, I snapped my wrist and smacked the spell as it was coming at me with the tip of my wand, causing the spell to bounce away, slicing a nearby couch cushion in the common room open.

It looked like it was a nonverbal Protego but it wasn't but they didn't have to know that, as I already stopped concentrating on the shield and called out twice in quick succession.

"Stupefy! Stupefy!"

Crabbe and Goyle both slumped down from not being able to react in time even with their wands up, I believe they were only doing it for a scare tacit, you know, strength in numbers and all that.

And that they actually didn't know any spells to use against me in a proper duel.

I just smiled at Draco who was quickly becoming more nervous before shifting said smile into an actual full glare and watched as he turned and ran out of the common room.

"Wow, I can say now I believe I've made the right choice" Glancing over in the direction that the voice came from, I just rolled my eyes at Blaise before saying to him as I turned back to my door, ignoring the unconscious bodies on the ground for the moment.

"Glad to know I'm appreciated" Looking over my shoulder as I pushed the door to my room open, I also shot off two Rennervate spells that counters the effects of Stupefy, also a spell Blaise smirked at the sight of me using it on someone else besides himself.

As the two were getting off the floor I walked inside leaving the door open for Blaise to follow me in, which he did end up doing after a moment to watch the two struggle to figure out what had happened for a moment.

As the door closed, I dropped myself down on the bed and pulled out a book on basic cosmetic charms, Blaise snorted at it, but that was fine.

I was only looking in it at the moment because I've recently over the past week finished up most of the remaining charms in that house keeping book, well at least the ones that interested me.

"What? Are you looking for something to make you actually attractive to girls, because I don't think any amount of spells or magic could pull that off." It was a harmless quip, but I just held back a small grin before saying out to the room not acting like I was just saying it without care, because I kind of was.

"Eh, they can be as uninterested in me as I'm uninterested in them for all I care." He just snorted before stopping and looking at me, I just looked up from my book and raised an eyebrow.

He just looked at me for another second before deciding that he wasn't sure how to ask and just dropped it by grabbing one of the books I had laying around and flipped it open before complaining.

"I swear you should have been in Ravenclaw, this is the second year text book for magical history. You don't even go to the bloody class most days, it's sodding unfair that you're still in the top five for the class. I don't even know how you manage that."
