HP: Is It Wrong To Be A Sociopath In Magical World? [ Chapter 16 ]

But unlike Herbology, I actually found the subject more than interesting enough to look into it outside of the classroom.

So far not much spell progress in learning jinxes, hexes, curses or any counters but I've read a lot about them so that's something.

Last up was Transfiguration as I haven't had either Flying lessons or Potions class to actually talk about them yet.

Transfiguration was actually really boring as it was just more note taking until we started a spell to turn a match stick into a needle, that wasn't near as annoying or tedious.

In fact I managed it right before class ended though at that point it was more of me forcing the matchstick into submission than smoothly transforming it into a needle.

But McGonagall was still incredibly shocked, enough to give Slytherin five points which was something of noteworthyness as Blaise actually looked almost shocked at something while the half and pure bloods around me had barely made any progress at all.

So I think I just showed up everyone in my house with that act of magical superiority in their eyes from a muggleborn, which I was more than fine with.

Currently I was sitting in a desk waiting on the Potions class to begin, currently role was being called with me already giving my name out to be checked off.

I was sitting by Blaise though at this point he just kind of showed up every now and again talked with me for a bit or let me know about Draco's current anger towards me, so I could predict what to do to avoid him or force him to rain his temper in without getting only himself in trouble.

Something everyone quickly figured out about me in Slytherin was that there was no mistake about it. I had been thrown into more verbal spars than I would like, but that doesn't change the fact that I've won them all without too much trouble.

And news of that gets around the house quickly, that I'm not one to mess with without some proper plan in motion at least as more often than not they'll just get in trouble instead of me.

And I'm completely fine with that, I still can't figure out how to cast and use Protego so building up a rep like this helps that I have to deal with an actual confrontation with someone that ends up in a duel of some kind.

Though I'm pretty sure it's only a matter of time until Draco does something dumb so I've begun to look into spending more time on spells for stuff like dueling, that kind of thing seemed really easy actually, at least compared to the simple Transfiguration magic I've done so far.

"Ah yes, Harry Potter, our new celebrity." Looking up from the book I had been reading about the basics of recognizing the signs of curses, a part three in a three part series with the first about jinxes and the second about hexes.

I had heard word that supposedly there was another one that was much deeper into recognizing Dart Art magics. I haven't found it yet so it was just speculation though I will be looking into it nonetheless.

Still that wasn't really the thing of interest, as for the first time I noted the fact that this class was shared with the Gryffindors which was neat.

So far the only classes that I had taken with other houses was Ravenclaw for Herbology and Hufflepuff during Astronomy and Charms, so this was a new mix.

Though hearing the distaste in Snape's voice when referring to Harry made me realize that this class is between enemy houses basically and the teacher here hates one of the students, oh fun.

"You're here to learn the subtle art of potion making, as there is little foolish wand waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic, I don't expect you to really understand the beauty of the softy simmer cauldron with it's shimmering fumes, the delicate liquid that creep through the human veins.”

“Bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses, I can teach you to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper on death. If you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads I usually have to teach."

Well the speech was captivating right up until dunderheads, not exactly the best impression but I suppose that he doesn't really care about something like that.

Though maybe it was just me as some around the class seemed to want to prove him wrong, like Hermione, who I think was actually jittering in her seat at the moment.

"Potter! Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to and infusion of wormwood?"

Draught of the Living Death. I think that's the correct answer, Potions, I'll admit isn't one of the things I spent much time on, sure I found it more interesting then a few of the other subjects in this school but the textbook was mostly about the ingredients and brewing techniques more than the potion creating itself.

Too bad for Harry, he didn't seem to understand it at all, which was as far as I remember that little potion only mentioned at the end of the Potion's book.

"I don't know sir."

"Tu tu, fame is clearly not everything. Fine, lets try again. Where would you look if I asked you to find a bezaor?" That I knew without needing a text book because I know some myths and false medical information around same item.

Though sadly Harry didn't seem to know the question this time either, though I noted that Hermione looked like her hand was trying to rip itself off her body with how high in the air it was at the moment.

"I don't know sir."

"You didn't think to open a book before coming, aye Potter?"
