HP: Is It Wrong To Be A Sociopath In Magical World? [ Chapter 14 ]
Added 2024-12-04 02:04:40 +0000 UTCFrom there we all went to our individual rooms that the dorms were made up of. Yeah, I got my own room, I'm now coming around to the fact that maybe this house isn't all that bad.
Well I would think that if it wasn't for the fact that the second the Prefect walked away, Draco had started walking towards me.
Something I didn't bother looking in his direction for, and instead just closed the door in his face before he could enter or grab me.
Turns out that there are wards on the doors to only allow those permitted into the room, it's a nice fail safe, especially since I feel like I'm going to become a target in the next few days. I should actually prepare for that.
Walking over to the four poster bed, I opened up my trunk that was laying on said bed and pulled out two books.
One was the Transfiguration book that I was almost done with, and the second was the Defense against the Dark Arts book.
I placed them down on the bed while also putting the trunk on the floor before thinking about it for a second before pulling out my wand from my side.
I looked down at it for a second before glancing upwards at a blank wall before snapping my wrist up and said.
"Stupefy"
I felt a pulse in my hand but nothing happened, looking down at my wand for a moment I thought about what I had learned from both the Charms book and Transfiguration, intent heavily matters when it comes to spells like this.
So, I began focusing heavily on the idea of causing something to be stunned. Holding my hand up and I said in a more demanding voice.
"Stupefy!"
Nothing, once more, frowning a little I spied downward at the wand before demanding out loud.
"Stupefy!"
This time a bolt of red light shot out and splashed against the wall, grinning suddenly I snapped my hand out again and said the spell with the same effect happening.
Looking down at my hand again, this time I focused on something else.
I had something to attack back without worrying about hurting someone to the point of getting in trouble, but I also needed something to defend myself with as well.
After a bit of memory searching I found the spell I would need
"Protego!"
Nothing happened, thinking about it again, I felt my intent and tried to cast it once more, only for nothing to happen.
I knew the spell was invisible until it was in effect but I should feel the magic being used right? I did it for Stupefy even when it didn't actually work at all, maybe it's just a lot more advanced.
I think that might be it, I remember something about it being a difficult spell from somewhere. Well at least I can attack for now, which should be enough.
Plus I have the rest of the night to try and get the spell worked out, but a bit of reading on it, at least I believe the spell was mentioned in the Defense textbook.
So, with that I walked over towards my bed and opened it up and skimmed through the text trying to find what I was looking for.
Though I did note that I really should get some new books because these ones are really beginning to get repetitive and boring.
….
The next morning, I blinked as I stepped out of my room into the common room and noted that Blaise was already there and was apparently reading something, though when he looked up, an interesting expression crossed his face.
Maybe he was about to try again for round two but that didn't seem right, no something else was planned. He just sighed before standing up and made his way towards me.
"Hello again Grey, I thought I would inform you that Malfoy is trying to get a confrontation with you. Apparently you insulted his honor or something else equal asinine." Raising an eyebrow at him, if my same disinterested look on as always.
I thought about the information and decided that more or less it was probably accurate as Draco doesn't seem to be the type to let something like what I said get away especially because now that we are in the same house, the house that favors him over me in this kind of thing, that'll be interesting.
"Oh? And why are you telling me this?" He really didn't seem like the type to help me out from the bottom of his heart. Still after a moment he just shrugged with an amused look on his face and said.
"Malfoy is no real friend of mine, I keep him close to keep an eye on what's going around. Same with you, though I have a feeling that you already knew that. You're interesting, a lot more than I figured you would have been right after your sorting.”
“Everything dictates that you'll be crushed by this house, but for some reason I feel you're more of a wildcard than anyone is giving you credit for. So I'm stoking the flames to see what the end result will be."
Interesting, he's very forthcoming with this information, I won't say it's a bad thing, it saves processing time to just be told his intentions.
But still, he apparently isn't a part of that stupid Death Eater cult, which is a good note to make as he has no allegiance to anyone, it seems that I'm not the only 'wildcard' here.
I just gave him a very bland smile before dropping it back to my new resting face and said.
"Good to know, I hope you realize that this interest to give me information about Draco probably shouldn't be going in the opposite direction."
His face hardened slightly as much as it could for a preteen but before he could reply to my thinly veiled threat the person in question walked into the common room.
