A Squire's Wish (writing update)
Added 2018-08-10 20:23:05 +0000 UTCSo... you might have noticed I started posting teaser chapters of Book 2 of the Hidden Wishes series.
I am technically about 19k words in.
And I just decided this morning to dump 17k words of that (basically everything but the first 2 chapters). I started writing based off a plot that I thought was interesting and realised, 19k words in that it's:
- boring
- repetitive
- nonsensical
and non-dramatic. It's just... blargh. It might make a decent short story if it's reworked so I'm going to keep what I have and revisit it one day with that in mind, but I'm going to have work out a new plot and new idea. I know the theme of the story, but the actual plot continues to elude me.
So yeah, don't expect any more chapters for a bit while I restart.

Maybe. I'll try to work some of it in. There are a few scenes that might be workable, but it'll depend on how the new plot flows.

2018-08-10 21:58:10 +0000 UTCIs anything salvageable from it? Maybe some of the interactions might work without the plot? I’m always an advocate of trying to find value from previous work... lol.
