Bugs!

Hey everyone, I wanted to share some stuff I’m working on that will be released over the next few days.

Has anyone used Kruthiks in their games? I love the idea of hives of giant insect-like creatures that are aggressive and numerous enough to pose a threat to civilization. If you want to introduce something like that in your campaign but find giant ants too mundane, Kruthiks are probably the way to go. Here are some lines for the Adult Kruthik and Young Kruthik paper minis I’m working on:

While I like the overall shape of their bodies and their long claws (very reminiscent of Arachnids from Starship Troopers), I’m not a fan of their elongated necks and reptile-like heads. I also think that adding a few variants to the regular adult and young drones would make for more interesting encounters. With that in mind, I’m also working on my own version of these creatures:

They are a bit less reptile-looking and a bit more “monstrous insect” in my opinion, which is the way I’d like to go with them. Larvae, eggs, and more specialized variants of these creatures is something I might explore in the future (winged, heavier “tank”, egg carriers, etc are ideas that come to mind).

Also, since I was working on these, it seemed a good idea to also finally make an Umber hulk given the similar theme. Here’s the lines for that :

And of course, a variant for that as well:

Am I forgetting any good "bug" type monster that would be a good addition to these? Let me know!

An ankheg would definitely be a great addition to these, we don't have one of those as of yet.

Ankheg comes to mind, along with fire beetle, and maybe even the cave fisher
