Hey guys I wanted to ask about Chinese traditions especially with greetings. I thought I knew them well until I saw this video from Beijing in the 1910’s + https://youtu.be/5bQwGlMEeOE I thought I knew all the greetings used in the past turns out after watching this, I was shocked to find out the only one they have used on the regular in china when they showcase this period in film is the female greeting

I have to say, I don't understand where C-Milk has that idea from that Germany is somehow "enslaved" by China. There are laws in Germany, specifically for preventing Chinese investors from buying up German companies and on top of that, Germany is pretty much the only major western country that didn't just ship its manufacturing industry to China, but instead decided to compete with China and keep building stuff on a large scale. German companies of course realized that they couldn't compete with China when it comes to producing cheap mass products, so the German industry largely switched to selling the Chinese the machines they needed to build their cheap mass products. I wouldn't call that "enslavement" though. It was a necessary adjustment to the economic environment. The alternative would have been doing what the USA or UK did and just give up on manufacturing in favor of juggling around money and Germany would never have been as successful at doing that as the USA or the UK. If China ever collapses or gets replaced as "the world's factory", the German industry can just switch to selling their machines to Vietnam or whoever else takes China's place. If Germany were one of those Chinese semi-colonies like Canada or Australia, then why is there pretty much no Chinese presence in Germany? Where are all the German companies bought up and owned by Chinese investors? Where are the Chinese flags flying over German police stations? I can tell you that much: The general sentiment towards China in Germany during my lifetime (I'm 44) has always been adversarial. The media has always talked about China in a "Oh no! Those human robots will ruin us and eat our lunch! We need to fight them! We are in a economic war with them and need to make sacrifices to raise productivity to win!"-manner. The media, the politicians and the big corporations in Germany have always used China as a Bogeyman to scare the people into accepting cuts into their living standards. We've basically been in a Cold Economic War with China for the last 30 years. I really don't get where you guys get that idea from that Germany is subjugated by China when Germany was basically the only major western country that refused to go along with the "let's just let China produce everything and we'll just all become shareholders and Starbucks baristas"-thing. edit: Just because Volkswagen sold some cars in China? That is it? I'm pretty sure, VW is making a lot more money selling VW and Scoda cars in Europe and Audis in the USA, than they are making in China. Germany is not South Korea. Yeah, the car industry is important, but not THAT important. Besides, VW might be the biggest car manufacturer in Germany, but it still is only one out of 4 and the German economy is dominated by small family owned companies that sell obscure stuff like ceramic drill heads or parts for power plant turbines and stuff like that. The big brand corporations actually make up a relatively small part of the German economy.

I want this to be called Big Laoban Tier.

as a topic suggestion: recently I listened to a Chinese art streamer who lives abroad and she was asked wether she is a single child and she said "yes... well, no. I got 5 brothers. They are all dead. That's how 1 child policy in China works." and it was just a piece of conversation, but it got me thinking.. how difficult it must be to grow up and see the mother pregnant and one after another family member litterally going to waste and then thinking "If I fail in life I wasted the life of 5 family members" I'd be curious about the thoughts of people growing up under these circumstances, if they havent had second thoughts about the system they live in or about their life. I mean you know some people. I'd be interested in their perspective. I'm not sure in which format you could cover that, but really the one child policy and now the shift where people are more or less forced to have more, going through the past of it.

C-Milk has a video in McDonalds in China that was pretty good.

Almost everyday! We made a fake motorcycle gang in China, and he was the "prospect", so we shortened it to Prozzie

Doubtful that it will cease, but hopefully reform someday.

Tristan Exul in Sempiternus

I missed it by 30 mins I was too tired

Tristan Exul in Sempiternus

Nice job guys. Enjoyed the combination of a few topics and what felt like a looser format/presentation compared to Friday shows. Fun being able to comment and chat with other people without YouTube Chat moving at warp speed thanks to the more limited audience. Didn't notice the missing suit and tie til near the end - The new jacket works for you Winston.

s004aws

Do you still keep in contact with Prozzie? How did he get the name anyways?

Charles Womack

When is CCP China going to cease?
