Early bird: SymbOS Amstrad GUI

Dear Supporters

In the recent vlog I mentioned you'd see two videos this week, and here's the second! It's a slightly different flavour recipe as we take a tour of what looks a lot like Windows on an 80s Word Processor!

I was a bit worried this video might no be very interesting to watch as it's a lot of just looking at a screen, but I tried to keep it interesting and moving along in the usual ways, and I hope it works for you!

Perifractic's Retro Recipes

A GUI on a Amstrad word processor who would have thought but as said Dr, Ian Malcolm said "life, uh finds a way" A few months ago i was offered a PCW8512 and CPC464 and i turned it down, hopefully he still has them as i need a new project and I've got a spare shelf that needs filling. As always thanks for another great video ๐Ÿ‘ P.s Does it run crisis ? ๐Ÿ˜’(I know...)

Thanks Steven! I'm glad you noticed all those little detailed and liked them. I'm delighted that you referenced being at a friends' house. I GENUINELY feel that way with you guys because each time I get feedback I know I'm among like-minded nostalgic buddies. I'm so happy that it comes across that way! It's all uphill from here! No wait that sounds wrong... Seriously though I have some amazing things lined up. Each week almost can't come fast enough ;-)

Perifractic's Retro Recipes

It's just absolutely amazing that a word processor with 256K of RAM can run a multitasking graphical user interface. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ The Dr. Who TARDIS fade-in effect was great; what an awesome way to make your entrance after Puppyfractic greeted the viewers. ๐Ÿ™‚ The "digital tea" gag also had me laughing...๐Ÿ˜„. I really enjoyed watching your reactions to each feature that you showcased in SymbOS; it felt like being at a friend's house and he's showing you all the cool things his new computer can do. ๐Ÿ˜Š Athough I do appreciate and enjoy the conveniences of modern day technology, you were right when you said that it's not about usability, features, or even reliability, but rather how amazing it is that the computers that we all loved when we were kids are still being supported to this day. One thing is for certain, and although I can only speak for myself, I'm sure others would agree: with videos like these, it is most DEFINITELY *not* all downhill from here. Have a good one, Christian, and take care. ๐Ÿ™‚
