Early-bird: Wait, the Pawn Stars shop is fake?

Dear Supporters

I'm going a little off-menu this week after I noticed something whilst watching my favourite "retro" show. But we don't stray too far...

If you're interested in the copyright situation of using these clips, I've researched it in depth, and they fall under "fair use" federal law which permits use of copyright material for "comment or critique" in this manner, as other established Pawn Stars critique videos have done.

I'd love to know your thoughts or suggestions. Thank you for your ongoing support πŸ‘πŸ•Ή

I've obviously been watching far too closely πŸ˜…

This explains pretty well that feeling I had that something was "off" about parts of the show. I never quite noticed that, although I haven't watched that show in years.

Thanks Ewan. That's true. Luckily I've noticed that the robots instantly generate a YouTube email to me when I upload even the Patreon version. This happened with Witchwood due to the music I used, although of course the composer manually removed the claims. For this video no alerts came up. So I think the only problem could be a manual takedown, but they left up the very unfriendly one I mentioned with 3 million views, so hopefully I wouldn't even be on their radar. 🀞

Just as a word of warning, β€œFair Use” won’t necessarily stop the YouTube copyright robots. I think you’d be successful in disputing a copyright strike here, but don’t be surprised if you need to do so. (Audio clips seem to get matched faster than video clips.) Ewen
