A U-Force Prototype?!?! The Latest from Gaming Historian HQ! (01/29/2021)
Added 2021-01-30 04:15:37 +0000 UTCHello Patrons! What do you think of my clickbait title? Here is a recap of my workweek at Gaming Historian Headquarters!
Here is the first version of the U-Force
Today, I had a 2 1/2 hour-long interview with Dave Capper, the U-Force inventor. Not only did we have a great conversation, but he gave me a little tour of his collection room. Inside, he showed me the original U-Force prototype! You might notice some red LED lights lighting up on the top square. These lights lit up based on the position of Dave's hands. It was a great interview, and I can't wait to share the video with you all! Look for that probably in March.
Sega Mega Modem Research is Wrapping Up
I'm almost done with my research of the Sega Mega Modem, AKA the TeleGenesis Modem. I spoke with Al Nilsen, Director of Marketing at Sega of America (1989-1993), via e-mail about the device. I am also getting about 30 pages of Japanese magazine scans translated! Once those translations are done, I can outline and write the episode.

In addition to translations, I have acquired both versions of the modem, every modem-compatible game, and the odd Ten Keypad controller. It should be a great hardware showcase! Expect this video in late February.
New Commentary Is Up!
Finally, Grad Assistant & Professors can check out a brand new commentary video! This month, I talk about the Homework First NES Lock. I changed up the style as well. Throughout the video, I pause and explain some insight in greater detail. This lets me give much more thorough commentary. I hope you enjoy it!
That's it from me this week. See you in February!
