U-Force Interviews
This past week I interviewed three people involved with the U-Force.
Dave Capper - Capper was the man who came up with the idea for the U-Force and was in charge of its development. We had a great conversation, and he even sent me never-before-seen footage and showed off the original prototype of the U-Force! Capper also agreed to be in the video. We will be recording a video interview next week.
Alan Weiss - Weiss was in charge of software development for the U-Force. He shared details on how Broderbund struggled to find developers who would make games that took advantage of the U-Force's capabilities.
John Mann - Mann was a business manager at Broderbund and was involved with the development/production costs of the U-Force. The controller was rushed to market, ran into many production problems, and lost Broderbund several million dollars.
Podcast Interviews
Last week, I was a guest on two podcasts, The Retro Hour and DrunkFriend. Retro Hour was more of a Q&A session, but DrunkFriend was more of a casual conversation about YouTube and content creation. I've provided links to both episodes below. Hope you enjoy!
Back to School
My spring semester started on Wednesday, so I'm officially back in school. It's only one class, so I think I'll be able to continue video production uninterrupted. During the day, I work on videos. In the evening, I do schoolwork.
Sega TeleGenesis Modem
I've been alternating research time between the U-Force and the TeleGenesis modem. I was able to find some great stuff this week. I built out a timeline of the modems planned North American release. I also ordered the device from Japan. It's brand new, in-box!
That's it for me this week, have a great weekend!
