Hello friends! Welcome to the weekly blog! Here is the latest from Gaming Historian HQ.
Topics Topics Topics
Recently, I have been brainstorming new topics. My issue has been creating big episodes during this COVID-19 pandemic. The big Oregon Trail video is on hold because of it, and I've been afraid to dive into other big topics. One of my big goals this year was to travel more and interview people on-camera. But obviously that can't happen right now. Its caused a lot of anxiety over here.
So we are just going to have to adapt and overcome! I'm going to try video conference interviews, audio interviews, basically anything I can do that won't require me to meet face to face. I'm also going to dive back into shorter topics as well, since they are easier to make during this pandemic (weird hardware, games, etc.)
However, the Oregon Trail video will still have to be postponed because most of it is filmed face-to-face, and it would be weird if some of the footage was a Skype call. Speaking of topics...
Crusader of Centy
Our next episode is on Crusader of Centy, one of the rarest games on the Sega Genesis. This was released in Japan as "Ragnacenty" by Sega, and then brought over to North America as "Crusader of Centy" by Atlus. Sega also released it in Europe as "Soleil."
So obviously the game being rare is a talking point, but this game is also a pretty darn good Zelda clone! I'll be talking about its cool little history and how it impacted the Mega Drive / Genesis.
Mario Paint
Initially, I was hesitant to make this video. But after diving in a little more, I think I can make something pretty cool about Mario Paint! So this topic is back on the docket. I've already started gathering material for research purposes (thanks to your contributions), and early research has begun.
That's all from me this week. See you next time!
